Excellent atmosphere, very nice dishes, excellent food! Children most welcome, very nice quality for a fair price!

We visited the restaurant with a group of ten people and had a nice dinner there. The service was quick and friendly and the whole restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. The menu didn't offer anything surprising or innovative - nothing you would not get in...most Flemish restaurants. The prices were fairly high but considering the overall quality of the food they seemed justified. We had kaas and garnaalkroketten, vitello tonnato, vol-au-vent, salad with chicken tandoori, different steaks and fries fillet of cod - which were all of good quality. Only one of the starters we head is definitely not a recommendation, the millefeuille de aubergines came an overpriced and uninspired vegetable dish drowned in a tomato sauce that resembled heated tomato pulp straight from the bottle. It has to be positively remarked that in L'Etranger they do not follow the Belgian police of limiting the choice for groups to 3 or 4 different dishes. So everyone could choose whatever they liked. The choice of wines from the menu is rather limited, the house wines may appeal to the taste of many but will not be the right choice wine lovers. On the other hand there is a choice of wines advertised on a blackboard. These are rather exotic and definitely interesting for those who have always wanted to try Canadian Chardonnay. Well there is water... and of course excellent Belgian beer which can be paired with the dishes. All in all not an unforgettable experience, but a good one. I would go again.More
