This is a general food store where you can buy supplies to cook yourself but also a cafe with outdoor seating only. Orders for breakfast and lunch placed at the counter can be eaten on the outdoor area which has shade and sun. Also coffee( only available until 2 p.m.) soft drinks and a separate ice cream section. Great place to sit ,relax and have lunch

Pleasantly surprised

We were visiting just for the day and while walking along Pine Avenue we got suddenly hungry. We went in to the General Store thinking we could find a snack. They have a whole deli counter. The sandwiches were fresh and stuffed with meat. French fries were delicious. The Pecan bar was gooey heaven. Very deceiving from the outside. Seating outside under the trees was perfect.

Convenient, Quick, and Easy

Staying on the north end of Anna Maria has both positives and negatives. The General Store on Pine Avenue can be a lifesaver when you're in need of essentials. Their outside deck is a nice spot to hangout—out of the sun and heat—and relax.

Very Disappointed

I came early in the morning to get breakfast. I ordered two eggs over easy with an English muffin to dip in the egg yolks. I was around six dollars. What I received was two eggs stacked on top of an unbuttered English muffin. When I asked for butter to try and spread it onto the muffin, it was ice cold and could not be spread. It was one big disgusting sandwich. Come on folks, surely you know the difference between an English Muffin sandwich and two eggs over easy. Even McDonalds knows the difference and can deliver a decent sandwich for much cheaper.

All the provisions you could want for an extended stay on the island. We rely on the General Store for just about everything when we're in town . . . much nicer to enjoy it's quaint island vibe than to run to a typical grocer.

Such a great little store with amazing ice cream!! Great breakfast! They also have a great selection of sports memorabilia! My son had a great time exploring!

Magical and Unique - Reliably Surprising

I had NO idea what I was in for when my friend Bobby took me to this place. He knows EVERY spot in AMI so of course when he suggested we visit the General Store I didn't think twice about it. Eventually, I found out he didn't really want coffee so much as he wanted to talk to the cute barista that made it. They hit it off instantly (of course right?!) but I got to wander around. This place is the DEAL! Really cool but not really trying to be. It has the vibe of Central Perk from the FRIENDS TV show - but not really aesthetically just vibe wise. The coffee is fantastic and I'm not just saying that because of Bobby flirting with the barista, they don't even talk anymore so I wouldn't have any reason to say that. But anyway the coffee is really good and so is their food. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was pretty good too. So here's the deal - if you're in AMI for a fun family vacation do you need to stop by The Gen (that's what Bobby calls it because he's from there but I just call it by the full name)? YES! You can get some picnic supplies, some snacks, some wine, ALL the hits! ALL THE CLASSICS! I even still have a green matchbook from the The Gen that fills my heart with joy thinking about what a great weekend I had that started off with a fun little breakfast sandwich. Lest we not forget that cream always rises to the top...but in this case...in the case of this interview it falls to the bottom or at the very least THE END of the interview. *Winks* Try the ice cream too you won't regret (Bobby never did cause he doesn't like sweets).

Cute little store
