Having been turned away(rather brusquely) by two trendy and over-full establishments near the harbour we were delighted to get a table with a sea view at the Terrace Restaurant with the prospect of a reasonably priced "Expresss Lunch". The meal (grilled smoked haddock followed by Dover sole) was nicely presented and very nice. The trouble was that the restaurant's idea... More

The food was excellent, and you get a nice view over the bay. We stayed there for lunch while on a day trip with the Jacobite train. It's not the first place you notice once you get to Mallaig, you have to walk up the hill a few meters, but it's definitely worth it.

We had a lovely afternoon drink and eat at this restaurant. A bottle of New Sealand's Marlborough Sauvignon blanc with a plate of shrimps to undo with a lovely homemade sauce. Salted bread and botter accomplied it. You have to do some work before yoy can eat the shrimps, but that does'nt matter. Water and a slice of lemon is... More

The restaurant has fantastic views of Eigg and Rhum and distant views of the Skye Cuillins. A wonderful setting for an evening meal. The service was friendly and the food very tasty and nicely presented. We watched the sun set behind Skye. A perfect evening.

We had dinner in the lovely glazed terrace where you can enjoy the dramatic landscape of the Inner Hebrides, particularly Skye (with the snow the view is even more special). We suggest you to try (they say local) langoustines or scampi (crustaceans) that were very tasty and fresh (even if it is not easy to eat the first time!). Salmon... More

The staff at the hotel reception desk recommended the restaurant to me as they had a new chef. I was a touch sceptical but was really pleased that I gave it a go. I love a good Chicken Caesar Salad, so thought I'd give it a shot. I was completely taken aback to find it was one of the best... More

The restaurant is located overlooking the sea fantastic views and very comfortable seating. The food was excellent as was the service five star food but not five star prices. We had lunch and dinner and would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Mallaig you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to returning to this very friendly hotel.
