On a staggeringly hot day after catching the Jacobite up from Fort William we popped into the Steam Inn. We had a load of kids with us and shade was a priority. The menu has a good range, it's reasonably priced and the portions are large. The pizza's were loaded with cheese, the Fish & Chips were great, The next... More

We chose this for the seafood menu and weren't disappointed! A huge seafood platter for one fed us both!

Stopped here for dinner as it was one of the few places to offer vegetarian food. Ordered mac n cheese times two and we both enjoyed it. Tasted home cooked, although their chips were much better than mine ever are! I would love to see a few more veggie options but then I was in the middle of a fishing... More

Last meal in Mallaig after 4 days storm bound. You can't miss the The Steam Inn with its vibrant outside colour scheme. The monk fish Scampi'tails were simply suberb, great service nice sourounds as well.Everything that our table had was excellent.

Called in for a couple of pints during a visit to Mallaig. I couldn't fault it. a friendly welcome, good selection of beer and reasonable prices. I didn't try the food but it looked good and from the comments made by those dining it probably tasted as good as it looked.

Our extended family (5 adults and 2 children) had dinner here. There is a good selection of meals which are reasonably priced, also a fine selection of beers etc. to accompany your meal. We went on a friday evening so had to wait 30 minutes for a table.

I had fish and ships at the Steam Inn in Mallaig recently, and it was utterly wonderful! I've had some top class fish and chips in my time - mostly in Australia - but the cod in oats and breadcrumbs was right up there - absolutely delicious! Didn't need or want lemon or tartare - there was so much flavour... More
