Absolutely fantastic for walking and relaxing. There are two trails, Miss Bristow's being the shortest but still a nice walk with the dog, there is a stream that follows this trail. Aloe Brae trail is about a 45 minute stroll that brings you back to the castle and the gardens. There are benches to sit and relax and tea rooms... More

Fantastic location for an evening meal, the food is absolutely excellent, as is the service. You take your own booze but that is not a problem in the slightest. Have been a few times now and will go back again.

I ate here with my daughter and partner and each dish was fantastic. Great menu with excellent choice. Quality local produce cooked perfectly by the French chef who popped out to make sure everything was fine. The restaurant is set in the castle kitchen which makes this well worthwhile. You do need to book, and they are only open at the... More

We often come to the tearoom during the day and, although simple, their food is always excellent and we're always impressed by the ingredients used that are grown within the estate. So we've always wanted to try the evening restaurant and we were not disappointed. I had duck followed by a steak which were both cooked perfectly. Sadly the venison... More

Came to Castle Fraser restaurant with a group of friends for Hogmanay (New Year). Very cool setting, dining in a large room with a very high ceiling! Since it was New Year's Eve, it was a set menu, with 6 courses, all of which were excellent - the steak was a highlight, cooked just right, with a very tasty mushroom... More

Ate here with a friend for the first time this evening. Wonderful dining experience, will certainly be back. Lovely seasonal menu with plenty of choice. Food is of excellent quality. Staff were exceptionally attractive, nothing too much trouble. The manager even came to speak to us after our meal to make sure that we had enjoyed ourselves. C'est tres bien.

Visited this place many times and every time is like the first time. The last time was for my sons wedding and this was no exception as the staff were friendly. The grounds were well kept and clean with no litter whatsoever.

I came here to visit with family for a 21st birthday meal and the food was terrific. The staff are all lovely and the restaurant was set out very nicely. You could also take your own drinks which was nice. Would definitely visit again.

Dined here with 3 other couples, one local and the others from USA and Australia. Both the service and food were very good. I had the prawn starter and duck main and enjoyed both. Five of our group had steak and asked for everything from medium well, medium to medium rare and the chef managed to satisfy them all! Note... More

If I was on holiday and discovered a place like this I'd be very, very pleased! As it is we live locally to Castle Fraser and can walk to the Castle Restaurant. The menu changes regularly and they use local ingredients. Always good, always innovative. Soft drinks can be purchased but for wine it is bring your own with only... More
