Great Night Out

We attended the Indian Sampling Night. The menu was extended and varied. All of the courses were excellent. On a normal evening the menu is excellent using local produce. There is a good selection of local ales as well as a very good Gin selection. In the Summer the views from the restaurant are... read more

My wife and I stayed here in September for one night. Our very spacious and comfortable room was behind the pub overlooking the lovely remote valley. The owner could not have been more welcoming. We ate in the pleasant pub dining room that night and the food and service was first class as was our breakfast the next morning. The... More

You hear about places like this that time has forgotten and you just drove past on the way to a better place but if you have, you have missed a little hidden time machine. This is a quite country pub with a old fashioned feel. Yes the restaurant reminds me of a Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmare on LSD but move... More

We visited with friends one weekday evening. The food was fantastic. We had the mushrooms to start. Wow, so tasty and an enormous portion. My hobby has a fab steak and all of us enjoyed our meals, some of the best we have ever had in a pub. The only thing I would say is that we were the only... More

Visited here on a recent break. The pub its self was clean friendly and welcoming, there is seating both inside and outside for a nice day and a juke box available indoors.

We booked to ensure we got a table. The menu was varied and we chose roast chicken and beef mash. Both had a varied selection of vegetables and were were delicious! For pudding we both had plum crumble, and again this was excellent. The staff were very courteous and obliging, even going to the lengths of making a list of... More

Friendly staff, with appetizing food, good service and excellent beer. Situated in a quiet and attractive village, the views from the back are outstanding. We opted to go there every night of our stay in the area.

We were very disappointed when we had lunch here today. Nothing wrong with the food, in fact it was good, but my friend who hates bog standard vegetables asked if he could have chips or salad instead of the veg’s. We were gobsmacked when the waiter said ‘NO’ and if we wanted a substitute we would have to pay the... More

We visited here for a meal while staying at the nearby Sun Hill Lodges. On arrival it seemed very quiet and we were beginning to doubt our choice however we had no reason to worry. As the place filled up around us we considered the early diner menu. I had black pudding and lambs kidneys and the other half had... More

I am sorry for any confusion regarding your booking. We are very transparent with regards to our policy on dogs and operate in the way that we expect to be treated when we go away with our own Border Collie......he stays in the room with us but we would never inflict him on other people dining who may not be...
