Does this tickle your fancy?

Had an early evening meal here recently and it was very tasty. Service was good and food came quite quickly. If we had gone earlier we could have had the Sunday Carvery but we were taking advantage of the 2 for 1 offer which couldn't be used with the carvery.

The food and drink was fine.. when booking the lady alerted me to a 2 for 1 offer they had on... we were booking anyway so she didn't need to do that... i thought that was really good of her.

Called in Saturday lunchtime at about 12.00, There were a lot of reserved tables so even at that time there was a limited choice of tables. The menu plus specials gave a reasonable selection. Between us we had Mussels and a pork pie with a mashed potato topping. Both were really good and the total bill was just above £20.... More

We were here on a Saturday night and we were very glad we had booked as the whole pub was heaving. It's very cosy with different rooms to eat in, so lots of choice. We ate in a side room which leads through to the bar on the other side of the pub, so there was a bit of too-ing... More

Came here on a wet day. Place was very busy. Managed to grab a table with the help of staff as soon as we arrived. Food was good and the ale was great! Definitely come back here again if in the area!

We stopped here for late lunch and were not disappointed. The place was busy, but service was still quick. We had two of their Christmas/New Year's two course specials; lots of good food and more than we could eat. Good traditional pub atmosphere.

We went again just after Christmas. Great place. A proper bar, fires and Great food. Consistantly this place has been a great place to eat in Helmsley. The game pie was the best. Black Sheep to wash it down. Yumm.

Visited as a group of 6 yesterday, the pub was extremely busy and was sat in the function room/banquet room. The service was warm and friendly and efficient from the staff. Ordered a mixture of traditional Sunday lunch and some food from the menu. There was plenty of choice to suit most tastes. All food was tasty and hot and... More
