Superb ancient pub in a terrific location . I could visualise the Pirates of old with their flasks of rum . It is that atmospheric. Freindly staff and locals

Visited here first time as live music was playing outside, the pub was very busy! however staff need to pay attention to who comes in and is waiting to be served! on both orders not only myself but another gentleman was completely ignored twice whilst others were being served [ i suspect locals ] I did point this out but... Often have a drink sitting outside the Ship, but mainly for the views. The food can be good, but is a bit hit and miss. The service is the same, sometimes friendly sometimes very terse - depends who is working that night.

The pub has outside seating overlooking the back beach and harbour, so is an interesting spot to eat. Inside is a traditional pub, nice quality with restaurant area. Food is absolutely lovely, especially the fresh local fish which is their speciality, portion sizes good and service attentive and friendly. Drinks moderately priced. A really nice spot for some real food... More

Stopped for a pint after the regatta in scorching sun. A beautiful day with lots of friends. Service was quick and although crowded there was space to sit. Pub provided free burgers to those in the Regatta.

We had the best ever battered cod, a pint of succulent prawns and the special of mackerel fillet with samphire,a bowl of chips with BLT and everything was so tasty and enhanced by great surroundings.

A surprise find, nice upstairs restaurant that looked after the kids well. Good specials of fresh fish of a mackerel and samphire starter, whole plaice and a good treacle tart. Kids food hit the spot too. Would come back next time to eat when in the area. I had tried for 3 weeks to book the "the crab shack" and... More

Me and my partner were looking at a few restaurants in the town and nothing took our fancy. Then we stumbled across the Ship Inn, which seemed like it had a good atmosphere. There was a large party in upstairs and despite being told there could be an hour or so wait the waitress was able to squeeze us in... More
