Having eaten at the Crab Shack next door we met with some friends for a drink at The Ship In and spend a very pleasant evening drinking in both the ale and the ambiance. We even had a visit from some local Morris Dancers. If you want the local view with good ale and good company thi si the place.

The pub is situated on the estuary and offers a great view up towards dartmoor - especially lovely in the evenings. There is a good choice of beers and ales and the staff are helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here, extensive menu plus a varied specials menu of seasonal produce and fresh fish. Kind and attentive staff. We particularly enjoyed the mussels, calamari and sardines for our starters and the hake and Brixham plaice were fabulous mains. Would highly recommend.

Stopped off here for refreshment and a bit to eat. Lovely little pub, nice seating area outside right on the (what I think is called the back beach, but I may be wrong so I apologise if I am). Great views towards Shaldon. Lovely food, be it if you want something simple like a sandwich/chips to more exotic fish food... More

a pub restaurant that delivers good quality food at a reasonable price - its not fine dining but its not meant to be, but it is good value and a great atmosphere.
