This restaurant is great. The staff were excellent and it was fantastic not to be rushed. once my birthday was meantioned it was not forgotten, a nice touch. The food was some of the best we have ever eaten, a real "master chef". experience. Every flavour and texture on the plate had a place, sounds pretentious but was honestly true.... More

Kota is one of our favourites and when asked by my wife where would I like to dine for my birthday it had to be Kota. We had an excellent meal and being a village it was good to have a little banter with Jane the owner who is always smiling and full of life. It was a Tuesday evening... More

My wife and I visited Kota as we couldn't get into a couple of other local restaurants as they were full. We were both hungry and the staff ensured that we were looked after without rushing things. A couple of slices of their homemade bread and a complementary mini fish cake a fruit drink (It was described much better!!) were... More

Hadn't been to Kota for a while but it was my birthday and, for one reason or another, we didn't have the dogs with us. Kota has all three requirements for a superb dining experience - the room, the service and the food. The room is calm and restful and is tasteful without trying to steal your attention from your... We came across Kota watching Jude compete in the Great British Menu. Also, me being a kiwi, it would be treacherous if I didn't check it out while on mini-moon in Cornwall. We were not disappointed! It was the best meal we had both had for a long time! The duck mains was visually a work of art with a... More

Such is the difference between the restaurant and the rooms here I have felt compelled to review them separately. Here I review the wonderful restaurant. Both the food and service were fantastic. The food was so beautifully presented and of such quality that you would have expected to pay more for it and the service was the perfect blend of... More

Without doubt the most exciting food around. At a time when chefs seem to be elevated to celebrity for once, this is a chef that deserves his position of being recognised as one of the best in the area, something I heartily endorse. As someone frequently disappointed with food at restaurants, At Kota there is always an element of surprise,... More

Visited here in July with my boyfriend, his sister and her partner. Booked about 2 weeks in advance and had no problem getting a table. Service was brilliant, friendly but not overbearing. Great cocktail menu, I can thoroughly recommend the Kota fizz! Set menu looked great value but we decided to go for a la carte. Such a great selection,... More

I was actually a bit disappointed with our dinner at Kota at the beginning of July. The main reason for this was the lengthy wait between courses. The restaurant wasn't full, and yet we waited an hour between the various dishes. The food itself was good, but we didn't stay for desserts as we didn't want to risk yet another... More
