It's a simple review, if you want great food got to Kota it's a gem! You might see Chef Jude on The Great British Menu this year, he did so well last year and what he and his wife are bringing to Porthleven is a very special ingredient.....passion! I hope you enjoy the food as much as we did.

Set right at the head of the harbour is an excellent restaurant that you would walk by and not know how very special it is. Understated from the outside but very special inside. Great, no excellent tasting dishes that are well thought out and presented, we had scallops, lobster (worth every penny) Turbot, and lamb dishes all very very good... More

Ate there last night to round off our trip. Great atmosphere and location right on the harbour. Staff very friendly, not over bearing, just right. Amuse buche was very tasty, fish nibbles and Beetroot. Starter of Scallops served with pork belly. Fantastic flavour and well thought out dish. Duo of lamb for main, cooked perfectly with a light but complimenting... More

We haven't been to Cornwall for a while & the last time I reviewed Kota was in 2012. It is still excellent in every way and we really wish it wasn't 150+ miles from where we live! Some of the combinations of flavours are quite unusual but they always work really well!

This is the second time we have visited Kota, with a two year gap between, and the experience this time was just as wonderful as the first. Outstanding food, outstanding service at a very reasonable price. Forget the competition, this is by far and away the best meal in Porthleven, if not Cornwall.

Having visited the sister restaurant, Kota Kai, a couple of years ago with friends we were keen to try Kota and managed to get a booking for the following day at 6.15 p.m. As we were relying on public transport to get back to our campsite this time suited us perfectly giving 2 hours to enjoy the meal. Staff were... More

It was a delicious, good value, outstanding meal. I chose to order from the set menu this time which offered Kota's usual originality, good quality and beautiful presentation. Their attention... This restaurant is perfectly located in this beautiful Cornish fishing village and is a lovely added touch of class. My wife and I booked at the last minute and they very kindly accommodated us, despite the short notice. The restaurant is lovely, authentically decorated and tables are nicely spaced out. The food...oh boy...the food was delicious. Not as much seafood... More
