While touring the Chianti region our driver recommend this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The views were spectacular. But amazing views would be nothing without good food and service to match and Il Vescovino did not disappoint. Our meals and service were both were terrific.

My family and I read the reviews on Trip Advisor prior to our recent trip to Panzano so we booked a dinner there with my Italian cousin and his wife. Renata e-mailed with me and reserved a pretty table for us.
The food was delicious and for my Roman cousin and his wife to rave about the food is a real compliment! Our favorite pasta was the picci with pomodoro. I can still taste it. Just a hint of "heat" to make this dish memorable. As another reviewer noted, the zucchini was the best he has ever had. Yes! Appetizers were delicious, the wine was lovely and Renata and her family really made us feel at home. We went back for a second night and I tried the chicken which had been slow roasted for 12 hours. Amazing. If I could have eaten two entrees I would have ordered the picci with pomodoro again!
The food is thoughtfully prepared in an authentic, Tuscan style. The vibe at the restaurant is "casual elegance." The view of the vineyards with a setting sun cannot be beat. It was a treat to dine "al fresco" under the setting sun and the stars that emerged by the time we left.
My family agrees that the #1 rating on Trip Advisor is deserved. We wish Renata and her family continued success and we cannot wait to return to Panzano and Il Vescovino!

My fiance and I were staying at a nearby hotel in Panzano. The concierge made us a reservation here, at Il Vescovino, and this became the highlight of an amazing trip. This is a beautiful family-owned and family-operated restaurant with an incredible view of sunset (at least in August, when we went). The food was delicious and fresh. We had two appetizers - a plate of sliced meats, an eggplant dish, and for a main course a porkbelly and a chicken that fell off the bone. You cannot miss eating here if you're in the area, and you should look to time your meal up with sunset, too.

After reading the reviews we were very disappointed by this restaurant. From the moment we were greeted we felt unwelcome and unwanted. When we ordered to share (after having a feast earlier in the day) we felt as though we had ordered “wrong” when we got glared at and were told we should be ordering 2-3 dishes per person. We most certainly did not need that much food! The dishes we shared were plenty but nothing mind blowing. We’ve had far better pastas and service throughout our stay. I might return one day but I was disappointed by this one.

Dear jgolddc, if I recall well, you had booked a table with us and, upon arrival, told me that you have had a feast earlier and was not hungry, so you would only have one pasta dish to share and that's it. You can order whatever you want but you have to understand that the idea of going to a restaurant and not being hungry is extremely strange for us. First of all, because our business is selling food, in addition to it, we have many people who cannot find a table here with us and would like to eat.

We booked in advance and ordered some ham to start with, then pici with Tuscan garlic and pepper (a lil spicy), pici with black truffle and grilled chicken - the latter was pretty good. View was magnificent and it’s located in an old town. Recommended!

Poorest meal in 2 weeks in Italy. Waited more than 45 min for starter. No apologies. Mine was labelled as special tuscan meats or some such nice wording. when it finally came just a plate of normal salami, nothing else, the sort you could buy at a supermarket for a few euro. my main course was a piece of tough beef with four, yes four only, large “chunky chips”. no garnish or nothing else. the tomato and basil salad was 5, yes 5, slices of tomato on a plate each with a little leaf on and a bit of oil. the cover charge was 8 euro for 2 of us, the most by far in Tuscany and Umbria and in better restaurants than this. i don’t understand how this place has such a high review rating. Certainly the poorest meal and service and value for money we encountered in the region. everywhere else we went was universally superb.

Went with my family around Chianti region and found this nice Restaurant ideally located on a hill with a great panorama. Family owned and handled, the food was excellent and the service very kind. Great place indeed.

It is a beautiful place with a wonderful view but the food was really disappointing. Nothing tasted as it should . The buschetta had no taste and this is tomato season. And nor did anything else. The service was fine but really we could not recommend this resaurant

This family restaurant is the best one we have ever visited in Italy (we had to come back during our stay in Tuscany). Great pasta, amazing tiramisu, wonderful view and very pleasant service. Could not recommend anything more!

We are currently staying within walking distance of this restaurant. Already a very small town, this place is a hidden gem! It is run by a great family who really take pride in their business. The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was great. We shared a lot of things but the star of the show was a side of zucchini we got believe it or not! Simply prepared but insanely good! Would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

Our family of 4 had an excellent dinner with a superb view of the Chianti region and vineyards! We were fortunate enough to get a spot on the terrace after showing up last minute. We enjoyed all of our appetizers; the zucchini was amazing! Our pasta dishes were flavourful! Of course we couldn’t go wrong with our bottle of wine! And tiramisu for dessert! This is a small family run business tucked away in a small hilltop town. It truly is a hidden gem and the service was top notch! We highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I went there to eat bistecca fiorentina. We had a Pici first and it was phenomenal. We had half a liter house wine with bistecca. Both were very good. Bistecca was rare but soft and delicious as hell! Of course the view was breathtaking. Definitely come again soon!

Amazing view and food! We had the luck to have a table but, if you plan to visit Panzano, it worth to do a preview reservation and ensure a good place to the sunset, that is amazing in this place, with a bottle of a good wine. We were surprised with the fact that it’s a Brazilian familiar restaurant, what made the experience even better!

We were walking along a lovely road on the edge of Panzano when we came upon this restaurant. The view of the valley and surrounding hills from our table was wonderful. We ordered the ravioli and it was very good. A very pleasant lunch looking out over the beautiful landscape.

Best Tuscan view with top quality food and service. We did not have reservations but the waiter was kind enough and made the effort to arrange a table for us. We had starters and pasta. The boys went for the bisteca fiorentina ordeal. Everyone enjoyed the food.
