I love when we find hidden gems, and this is definitely one. Clearly the TA ranking algorithm has a flaw, perhaps due to the floods of crowds staying within Polignano A Mare, as other reviewers are suggesting. The restaurant is easily worth the short trip out to San Vito and should be rated much higher. We had the house Antipasti,... More

We arrived on a quiet evening and chose the set "degustazione" menus, which were very varied and tasty. The service was very good and the waiter always on hand to answer questions and also to fillet some of the grilled fish. Good wine list. The only thing, if you're coming off the main Litoranea road, San Vito is a little... More

We cam here following a tip from a local friend that was recommending us to try this place that is on the outskirts of more touristic Polignano a Mare in a small bay overlooked by an old and quite well kept strangely built abbey . Arriving when at sunset time it was probably a great idea as we could enjoy... More

I was recommended by a colleague of mine to this lovely place. When we came the fishermen were delivering fresh fish and I wanted my friends to try. We had a selection of starters and then raw sea fruits selection. Grilled fish as the main course. Thank you it was great. One big find in a lovely bay. The location... More

After visiting this place last summer when it was no 1 Trip Advisor restaurant in Polignano (It's actually maybe 3 miles up the coast which probably accounts for why fewer people visit), and writing a review praising the fantastic food but questioning the way it given and then charged, we had to revisit this summer and were far from disappointed.... Having to introduce my parents-in-law to the beauties of Apulia (they're Swiss, coming to Apulia for the first time),I was looking for a nice restaurant, far from the wanna-be-fashionable places who mar Apulia nowaday. I decided to stop by here, intrigued by the cozy look of the restaurant, and by the amazing reviews. Well, I'm happy to say that the restaurant even exceeded... More

Because this rated as the best restaurant in Polignano on Trip Advisor last Monday, we decided to go. We know the area well, we know most of Italy having visited the country many many times, and we love the brilliant simplicity of the food. There was no one else at La Locanda the lunchtime we went, just the friendly and... More

All the food was top stuff. A dish of the available fishes presented, all spanking fresh. Perfect John Dory baked in stock with thinly-sliced potatoes. Service excellent, friendly, knowledgeable. Wine well chosen for us.
