We arrived without a reservation for a quick lunch before our flight home, the waiters were polite and dressed immaculately. We ordered two bowls of pasta and two glasses of wine, both dishes tasted good and were presented well, the wine was crisp and complimented the food very nicely - our bill came to €120.00! The setting is what makes... More

I recently returned from a 2 week tour through Italy with friends. We hit about 12 or 13 different locations/towns, everywhere from Tuscany to Dorgali in Sardinia and this stands out to me as one of the highlights. While we were visiting the Amalfi coast, we took an overnight trip to Polignano a Mare, specifically for this restaurant. We had... More

The food was good, small portions and very pricey. Lunch for 6 people no wine was 550 Euros including tip...but you just can't beat the view! Put it on your bucket list!!

This is my first ever negative review. I contacted the restaurant with my complaints but never heard back. From the arrogant front of house refusing to let us in 5 minutes before our booking, the huge delays in getting drinks and the bill, the awful food, terrible service (we had to pour the wine ourselves throughout the meal) and the... Even though the photos of this restaurant at night are spectacular, my suggestion would be to go for lunch as you can see so much more by day. We were originally booked for dinner but were staying too far away at the time, so we changed our date for when we were going to be closer. We could only get... More

Went here for a special date night with my Barese girlfriend, and we were not disappointed. The ambience, setting and history of the place make it utterly unique, and if you are looking for a meal that you will remember forever then this place more that meets that expectation. Food is not cheap but it never would be in a... More

I have actually reviewed this restaurant elsewhere but I have never left a restaurant feeling as robbed as I did when I walked up the steps from this restaurant after spending €200 on a two course lunch with half a bottle of wine.Food was medicre service was mediocre .Prices were outrageous. Make sure you understand what you are booking and... More

Having booked months in advance we expected a decent table in the cave but instead were placed on the last table on the terrace next to the toilet door, which the maitre d insisted was the best table.....we had a nice view of the people in the cave below and of the sea and a constant stream of people going... A spetecular view, accompanied with deliciously and creatively set food. Very helpful and educated staff. Cleanliness is spectacular, panoramic views even from the lavatories. Price is reasonable for such delicacies and SILVER SERVICE. Well done.

Booked whilst holidaying nearby with my girlfriends parents, after having nearly been dissuaded by the pretty poor reviews. It is, I'm afraid, difficult to argue with them. The service started off great for the first half an hour, first drinks brought swifty, some very nice bread and olive oil with a little explanation. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there....
