I had the hake and my husband had prawns and cod the sauce that accompanied the dishes were delicious. We had a tasting plate for dessert that looked as good as it tasted. We stayed the night and... My sisters and I had a lovely lunch in The Moorings at the weekend. Three of us had the tasting dish which was made up of freshly baked bread, delicious prawn cocktail with really large and fresh prawns, deep fried hake and chips. Included in the price was a strawberry meringue dessert and it was very good value. We really... More

The food was excellent especially the seafood chowder, the owner (Gerry I think) and his staff were great and the crowd was friendly. We were lucky enough... More

We had fish & chips quite a few times (let's not count) while vacationing in Ireland -- this was probably the best we had anywhere. The service was also good despite the restaurant being very busy at the time we were there.

Theres only a handful of restaurants in Portmagee, so we did not have much choice and this one looked the most decent. But our decision was right. They had a few special dishes of the day. The service was good. The restaurant was quite busy in a small little fishing village because there lots of people kept coming in, great... More
