We were staying in Portmagee for two nights on a mission to get to Skellig. We ate here both nights and had breakfast here one morning! The food is excellent (breakfast and dinner), had delicious fresh fish the second night and their banoffee was yum! They had a great selection of whiskeys which we certainly made the most of, and... I've eaten here quite a few times now and it never disappoints. It has a good selection on the menu and the staff are all helpful and friendly. I recommend the Bridge Bar taster plate. Prices are a little high but it's all good quality food. I'll be going back for more for sure!

We had a very good dinner here. The staff was so friendly and the place was welcoming a lively. The crab claws were nothing like I expected. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I ate them with the bread.

Nice staff, great espresso (Bewleys) and a wide range of beers, stouts and ales. Of course ciders too, but a pint of the black stuff is well served.

Soup was delicious. Nice and creamy. Sampler plate was very good and the shrimp were s hit. Cooked nicely with good flavor. Hake was very nice and flaky. Shepherds pie had nice flavor but was a little dry. Strawberry cream desert was excellent but maybe a bit too sweete. Fast friendly staff. Fair prices.

We came here twice while staying in Portmagee, the first time for dinner and the second for a late lunch after our boat trip to Skellig Michael. Our dinner visit was timed perfectly and we found a built-in table, sitting on stools near the front door. After a settling drink we both thoroughly enjoyed our seafood platters accompanied by a... Had Sunday lunch in The Bridge Bar today with my Dad, my beloved and my 3 nieces. We had roast beef and roast lamb, which came with a delicious gravy and piping hot veg, consisting of mashed potatoes, turnip, carrots and broccoli. The meal was delicious and we were given generous portions. My nieces had toasted sandwiches and Nachos which... More

The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
