Went on a Sunday night to listen to the live music. Music was great, a traditional Irish session. Place was packed. Strange rule in place, you could only sit at the tables if you were eating. Otherwise, stand or sit at the bar. Staff not...More

The place was very busy (late lunch time) but it was the holiday season after all. We escaped from the cold outside into the warmth of this place, and although specializing in seafood we opted for the burger and fries. we had wanted to order...More

June bank-holiday weekend - not necessarily the best time to try and get food in a busy place like The Bridge Bar in Portmagee. Our first time there on such a busy weekend. Oh boy it was great to be back in what I call...More

We stopped after our boat ride out to the Skellig Islands, didn't want to rush eating. The food was fast but fresh and tasty. Loved the Star Wars memorabilia everywhere. And Yes Mark Hamill did pour a beer behind that bar. We did go off...More

Shame his place. Food ok, but without a booking had to wait for average food and not cheap. Had a much better experience elsewhere next day on Valentia and in Portmagee Shame

Upon returning from skellig Michael I was hungry and thirsty, this restaurant was busy but produced my order in record time! The fact that it was freshly made and delicious just made it all the better. Perfect.

Friendly service. Food was good. Bar staff friendly. Star wars cast and crew visited here so interesting to fans from that view point.

Description
The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
