Delicious and simple bar food, efficient and friendly staff to match. Great shout if visiting Portmagee.

As we weren't too hungry we had a nice taster menu of prawn cocktail, a tiny bit of fried fish, some chips and a kind of small strawberry eton mess dessert - tasty and good value for 15 euro. My only comment about this bar is that - despite their having a restaurant beside the bar - the bar feels... More

I wouldn't like to see what this place was like before the Star Wars tourism descended. We had seafood which seemed like it was yesterdays fish added to the soup of the day (vegetable). I've nver had a chowder like it. One of the kids had mussels which were very good and the service was friendly.

We stayed in the area for two days and ate at The Bridge three times; two dinners and a lunch. Our group of four enjoyed the fish and chips, sea trout, pasta and soup of the day and a nice salad. All of our food was served quickly, hot and tasted great. Out of our group of four, none was... More

I know it's a bar and all, but maybe check to see that you're cleaning your dishes all the way through!!! My husband's drink glass had lipstick markings all around the rim. Gross. So.... Check your glasses. Food was good. I had the burger with cheese and bacon added. Made for a nice touch. The toffee apple cake was very... More

Husband, 2 boys (ages 9 & 11) and I ate here for lunch - as recommended from our tour guide on a Ring of Kerry private guided tour. Although busy at lunch time we didn't have to wait at all for a table or very long for our food. Fish and chips was especially fresh and delicious. Wait staff was... More

We both had the hake and it was fresh and soft. Served with a beurre/hollandaise sauce on spinach was perfect. Home made Irish Whiskey cake was moist and delicious with creme anglaise and whipped cream. Prices are reasonable with excellent service...

Excellent seafood especially the mussels! The brown bread was so soft and delicious that ordered extra to take away.

This is a very busy local bar and restaurant specializing in seafood. The mussels were absolutely sublime, big, fresh and juicy and the cold seafood platter was equally delicious, especially the smoked salmon. The bar was very busy and there was a 45 min wait for a table but you can also eat at the bar, which is what we... More

This place was very special to my parents so decided to go for lunch when passing on holiday. We got a table quickly despite the place being hectic. Food was lovely tho it would have been good to get the garlic bread earlier for the kids. Great portions for kids menu. We had the chowder which was delicious but could... More

The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
