Amazing views, food and service

We ate at Nobelos several times during our stay and we loved it. It is set at the beginning of the beach and you have to go down some winding steps under the pine trees to get to the restaurant. It is beautifully set out with tables on different levels from which to enjoy the view. The waiters are exceptionally good at their jobs - something very different from other restaurants nearby. The food is to die for! Beautifully served in the most amazing dishes. The wine is great too. If you go early you can get a sun bed on the beach but you must pay 50 euros per head on food and drink throughout the day. We will miss their garlic bread and incredible salads!

One of Our Favorite Restaurants

While searching for restaurants in the Agios Nikolaos area, I stumbled across the highly-rated Nobelos Bio. Since it was just a short walk away from our accommodation, my husband & I figured it was worth a try. Reservations were recommended, however given the fact that we were visiting during the “shoulder” season, we took our chances without one. It ended up working out as no other guests were there when we arrived. The grounds were beautiful with a lot of prime, waterfront tables but due to the wind, we opted to sit on the small balcony (next to the indoor seating) since it was semi-shielded. Our waitress was extremely kind & attentive, helping with wine recommendations, etc. The Greek salad was one of the best we had eaten, & similar to our entrees, they didn’t skimp when it came to portions. We enjoyed ourselves & the food so much that we decided to return a few nights later for our final dinner on Zakynthos. We had the same sweet waitress but the second time around, we were able to snag a waterfront table as the weather was cooperating nicely. Nobelos Bio was one of our favorite restaurants during our 2-week trip throughout Greece – Great food, atmosphere, & service!

Far exceeded expectations

Was outstanding. We arrived for lunch early and took a sun lounger, the nice thing was there was no charge just a minimum spend which we easily passed given the selection of food and wine available. View fantastic. Grilled sardines and vegetables sublime.

The chef saved the night

Very nice location but the service is poor and the food is overpriced, not talking about many items on the menu missing, including ANY fresh fish. Part of the service was amateur, not even knowing what is on the menu. We waited 30-40 minutes only for an entree, which was served at different times for me and for my husband. When we asked whether the missing entree is coming, we were only told that "for sure", no more efforts done. The food was, however, very good and well done. But consider the number of excellent restaurants in Zakynthos serving similarly delicious food, no need to pay double here for the same style of dinner. Also, make sure to book waaaaay ahaed. We were explained that we didn't have a right for a table by the sea, as we booked ours only the same morning...

Beautiful location, average food, overpriced

Our hopes were high given all the highly positive reviews. However from the second we were greeted by a "pretentious" matre d' who made us feel like "he was doing us a favour by allowing us in the restaurant" I cant say things recovered sadly. The location and setting of Nobelos are lovely, this you can not fault, the food is presented beautifully, the "actually" waiting staff we're friendly and informative. But the food.... Its average at best, small portions by their nature, to be punchy with flavour, they need to set your taste buds alight with combinations you love or have never tasted before, but our food did none of these, it was a complete let down. Maybe they were having an off day, maybe this is what they think is great food, but its not. You need to try very much harder for the prices you charge, simply having a stunning location and great presentation is not enough, you need to deliver!!

Myconos wannabe but bad copy

We called at 10am on a Sunday morning to ask if we need to make a reservation for sunbeds. The response was that they can't reserve but we should be able to find a set if we arrive before 12pm. We drove 50 mins to arrive at 11:15 but when we got there the guy at the entrance showed me the tablet with the reservations (!!!) and asked me if we had made one! I explained the discussion over the phone and he replied that all sunbeds were booked and suggested to make a reservation at the restaurant instead! Although money is not an issue given this is a pricey place for the island standards - we would happily spend well above the 50€ minimum required consumption should the place be worth it - this kind of attitude IS an issue. The stuff's attitude is like they're doing you a favour, quite the opposite of a fair treatment. Will never go back and I'd discourage anyone from awarding this kind of behaviour.

We heard that Nobelos bio restaurant serves excellent food and we made a booking to taste it. We also read in their website about the absolute family hospitality they provide and we were happy to spend the minimum 50 euros/per person to enjoy the food and the private beach as they request. However, when we arrived we experience something completely different and outdated, The maitre had a really bad attitude discouraging us to stay, a Mykonos 90's vibe as he is doing us a favor that he allowed us to enter into his private space. We kindly asked to have a coffee at one of their empty tables and to enjoy the beach as we had free time before our dinner. He stated that things don't work like this here, and that it would be better if we leave and come back at our reservation time- an opposite deal from our phone call - as we had shared our plans to the receptionist the day before. The least thing you need when you are on holidays and you drive an hour to reach a place is a person so hostile. Really unacceptable, thus, we canceled our reservation and we left without tasting the food.

Promised a lot but didn’t quite deliver

The local reputation of Nobelos is high so as we were staying in the area, we reserved a table for an evening meal. 1. The location and surroundings don’t disappoint- I would say probably the best of all the local restaurants. You get a lovely greeting and shown to your table. Top tip number one. Insist on having a table with breeze (left hand side). If you don’t the heat is stifling and you will be on the menu for the local wildlife. 2. Service. This is a bit hit and miss. Initial impressions were good but after our first course was served - it became pot luck whether water was topped up, anyone asked us whether we wanted any drinks (no one did) or desert etc. It got quite comical at one point. Our waiter was so focused on a particular table he forgot our desert which turned up completely melted. 3. Food. After recommendations from locals we were really looking forward to something special. Actually it was really average. I literally can’t say anymore than that. It was ok. The owner has an army of people working there and maybe we caught them after a long difficult day so but it was a really just an expensive, mediocre experience. There are other restaurants in the area which you should prioritise such as To Nisi, Orizodes or the Old Windmill where you won’t leave feeling disappointed..

I didn't have time to try their food because as I entered the restaurant they told me that if I want to use the sea to swim I was obliged to consume 50 euro/person The manager was standing in front of me as a policeman. I told them that I want to have a swim and then eat. Anyway avoid this place because they look at you like money. Such entrepreneurs defame the greek hospitality that's why never again

Best experience on the island so far!

We discovered this place while we were driving to the lighthouse further on the road. After visiting we deciding to get back there to Nobelos for the lunch. We arr8ve d4 days ago on the island, and this is so far the best experience we had on the island! The restaurant is amazing, beautiful garden with shades, and private beach. All the tables gives you the sentiment to be unique and in total privacy while enjoying the beautiful view on the sea. Food is really nice, more expensive thane evrything you can find on the island but it's really worth it! That's not at all the kind of "snack" food you can find everywhere, well prepared, good products, tasty. Service is also really perfect! Nothing else to add execpt that if you are staying on the island, this restaurant should be on your "to do list"

Nobelos restaurant is located in the northeast coast, about 45-minute drive from Zakynthos city. The scenery is lovely. The service is acceptable but not the best whereas the food is great.We had the Fish saganaki as a starter followed by the octopus pasta and the sole. The octopus pasta was extraordinary. Its worth to visit only to eat the pasta again.

Gorgeous setting, seriously good seafood!

We were staying at the Aliv Stone Suites & Spa and booked a meal at Nobelos after a friend recommended it when they came here last year and it did no dissapoint! As lovers of seafood we had to come here. We were greated with a friendly welcome and then shown the catch of the day counter and lobster tank. The service was extremely attentive (but not intrusive) and all the dishes were presented beautifully. We had the Saganaki, grilled sarndies, greek salad, tsatskis and the octopus. All were gorgeous but the Octopus especially was out of this world! Seriously, if you love seafood and a settling that should be on a postcard then please go to Nobelos! Thanks again for a great evening!

Outstanding five star service

This is such a picturesque restaurant set on the coastline with tables amongst the trees. The service was incredible and our waitress was so attentive and knowledgeable about both the food and wine. Would highly recommend coming here to get the catch of the day - we were able to go up and choose the fish we wanted from the counter which came with some really interesting local side dishes. It was a great gastronomic experience and very romantic. The rose ice cream was very refreshing afterwards!

We had a delicious meal here. My children are generally unimpressed by food but I’ve never seen them eaten so will. The setting is beautiful & service immaculate. Hoping to fit another visit in later in the week.

This is an excellent restaurant. Perfect setting overlooking a lovely beach and cove. Service was friendly and efficient. Very professional waiters, surprisingly so if one considers their young age. The food is focused towards gourmet, everything we had tasted and looked great. A bit pricey but totally worth it.
