I have visited TOPES many a time and I have never had a bad meal. I always recommend it to those visiting work and many of those visitors love it. On this occasion myself and work colleagues were treated to a thank you meal in the charming building , my favourite bit of my meal this time was the drink... More

I was really impressed with Topes, as were the rest of my party. None of us had been there before, we just thought we'd give it a try. The staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The local produce is obviously top quality, cooked to perfection. Lovely ambience - we ate upstairs where there was plenty of elbow room even though... More

Some of the food combinations were a little strange. But it was well presented and cooked well, but the jam I had with my cod was over cooked by miles. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Had lunch here with friends and will definitely be going back again. The menu was very good and it was difficult to choose. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent and one of the best lunches I have eaten. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city and has a lovely relaxed feel to it.

We came for dinner and the service was brilliant. Food presentation and taste was fantastic, portion sizes were perfect (Mrs didn't agree with that...too small for her). Would definitely recommend if you're looking for the perfect three course meal.

I love Topes! The food is always delicious and seasonal, they have a wonderful selection of wines and spirits and the staff are so friendly. Perfect date restaurant or to catch up with the girls, can't recommend it enough!

We ate from the menu of the day and the food and service were fine. An acceptable wine list and a good choice of dishes. I couldn't, however recommend Topes for intimate dates. Our table was so close to those around it that we felt very inhibited in our conversation. Likewise, we were able to hear everything being said by... More

TOPES restaurant is a modern British restaurant centrally located in Rochester High Street in Kent and has been awarded two AA rosettes. Chris Small, head chef and co-owner, has created several different menus, including a special set price lunch (L16 for 2 courses and coffee) and mid-week evening menu (3 courses for L25). In addition, there is an a la carte menu for Friday and Sunday evenings and traditional roasts on Sunday. All ingredients are bought in fresh on a daily basis from local suppliers and the menus reflect seasonal produce. The restaurant is set in a 15th, 16th and 17th Century building and many of the original features remain. However, the restaurant has a modern feel to it to reflect the modern style of dishes on offer.
