They only serve sandwiches if you happen to order between meal times, ie sliced meat in bread. I've given two stars because the fennel salami was good. The waiter was tired, service was slow, drinks were slow getting to us. I asked for olive oil which was stale. Not a good first taste of the area.

The set menu of the freshest ingredients bode well for something a bit different. For our four courses (more like taster courses) we each had 1. a small ladleful of tomato bread soup, 2. one small spinach and ricotta crepe, 3. A stewed chicken thigh and a few pieces of stewed veal meat with salad 4. A shared plate of... More

Just finished a fantastic lunch at this little place, the is very very good, I had Tonno Del Chianti (some kind of slow cooked pork) the kids had pesto and ragu and the wife a salad, we were all super satisfied with the lunch and it's worth a trip up here to this little village just for the food

This place had been recommended so we booked for our first night in Casole d'Elsa. It was so great we went back for a second time this evening. The food is traditional Tuscan home cooking, with no choice - unless you inform them of any dietary requirements. But who wants choice when the four courses are fantastic. The antipasti was... More

Really great "cucina povera" typical of Tuscany-- delicious, well prepared, with excellent and warm service.

Any time I'm in Tuscany I make sure that I visit this restaurant. I first found it in 2003 and the attraction has not diminished over the years. Very friendly staff and a fixed menu that always varies but never disappoints. I hope to be back again soon.

While staying in the nearby Tuscan hills we were told about this delightful restaurant which took the element of choice away (which is actually lovely and you can let the cook know if you really don't like something) but gave you a great taste of the local fresh produce and delicious tastes of Tuscany. Both nights we thoroughly enjoyed both... More

We had a lovely meal here whilst staying locally. The fixed taster menu changes daily and ours comprised of a bread crumb salad starter, wild bore tagliatelle, pork salad with a kind of meatloaf and finished with a trifle like tiramisu. We would never have chosen these dishes from a menu but so glad we tried it as it was... More

We ate here twice during our holiday and enjoyed excellent food both times. There is a new menu every day dependant on what is available locally, four courses soup, pasta, meat then dessert. It is really nice sometimes to just enjoy whats on offer and not have to choose what to eat. There isa great choice of wines and a really good... More
