Weak eyes visited many times and as ever Re di Macchia didn't let us down. Roberto and family have this place working like clockwork. Great food, a good wine list and a friendly atmosphere.

The owner and host is a very congenial fellow that didn't mind us ordering one three course menu for the both of us. The lasagna is fabulous and so was the rabbit salad. The wild boar entree was good but seemed a bit too similar to the Braised beef with the same sauce. Wish they had an outdoor space to... More

Small restaurant, quite good service and the food was good. We had the zucchini pudding and bruschetta as appetizers: tasty but nothing to rave about. The same could be said for our main courses. One was beef with potatoes and sauce and the other was ravioli with mushrooms. Nice wine selection a little on the pricey side. Total bill with... More

Lunched here in late September. Very busy. Lucky to get a table. Everyone in the place was local. Good sign. We had a simple lunch of rabbit salad, braised beef and mixed seasonal vegetables with the house Brunello by the glass. All were excellent. Many people waited for tables. The staff were friendly and efficient. Service was very prompt. Clearly... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and the reviews were good - our hopes were high. Sadly we were terribly disappointed. On making our menu selection we asked the waiter for some advice on white wine - now this is Brunello country but I wanted to taste some local whites for a change. There were maybe 25 reds by the glass... More

We dined at Re De Macchia for the first time because of all TA reviews. While we truly enjoyed it-some folks mentioned it was the best ever meal, etc. We did enjoy it, but for us personally probably would not recommend the Prix Fixe Menu. For the price-it was a good value, but was more than we normally spend for... More

We were happy to be able to get into this small and cozy restaurant as we saw several people turned away the night we were there. We tried the pasta and bistecca alla fiorentina, and they were both 5 star quality. Incredibly friendly service, a nice moderately priced wine list, and great food made this a perfect night. We will... More

I can only echo what all the other reviews have said...great food, great service, cordial hosts! My husband loved the stewed cinghiale (wild boar) and I Especially loved the Toritino Broccoli with a pecorino sauce. It was like a little broccoli soufflé! For my personal taste, the courses came too fast, i.e. No time to,linger between courses, but they seem... More

at first looks a bit too wintery - no windows/views/terrace etc (esp. in the summer ) - but the locals, the reviews hold firm and this is a fantastic place to eat and try some delicious Brunello.
