We had coffee and frappe with a danish pretzel. The pretzel was good, though expensive but the frappe was not close to what one could exepect. It tasted like watery coffee with some ice cubes in it. We should have taken our money elsewhere.
We almost didn't go to Kringlan ("The Pretzel" in Swedish) for dinner. The tripadvisor reviews seemed to be mostly about breakfast or "fika" (the coffee & cakes snack which the Swedes obsess over) and not so much about the dinner time main meals. I'm assuming...most of the reviews are in Swedish, so didn't show up in English.
In the end we felt lucky we gave them a chance - best meal of our whole stay in Rhodes by a considerable margin! We were told the chef is from Stockholm and it rang true as the flavours in the dishes we tried were fresh and delicious and any special request we hit them with seemed to be no problem.
The salads which appeared on the menu as mains were prepared in smaller portions as starters for us at half the cost. Chicken caesar salad was amazing and my wife loved the Greek salad. Chicken bourginon was awesome and authentic tasting (but why no beef option?).
I would have no hesitation ordering again here and think it should be amongst the most highly rated restaurants in this town. English was spoken perfectly by the Swedish staff.More
Spent 17 days in Rhodos and went there at least 12 times for a morning cappuccino. After the third day I only have to say Kalimera and show her 3 fingers. Good coffee and a very friendly staff. Also the bakery is delicious. The best we...tasted in whole Rhodos town.
We also went there twice for a late breakfast and that was also very good. If you like a good coffee, worth visiting.More
