While it's a lovely restaurant by day with a great view, at night it also offers an outdoor cinema. You have two obvious choices: they alternate nights between Mamma Mia and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. So fun! There were six of us and we sang the whole way through, of course. The great thing is – you get headphones, so only YOU get to hear the music and soundtrack. And the ambient noise is loud enough that no one really hears you sing. Lol Reservations recommended. Cost was €15 and it includes a lovely little board of tzatziki sauce, olives and pita bread. You can order drinks and food throughout the movie. It was a hoot. It was very windy and chilly the night we went, so we layered up and were fine. But the wind does come right up the mountainside, and they don’t have blankets. Beach towels or other layers would be good (this was Oct 18, though – pushing it for nice weather.)

Another spot along the Caldera with a fantastic view. Being between Firostefani and Fira it's also a little further out and not quite so busy. The breakfast menu served good options, and was good quality. It was expensive for what you got, but we found that many other places serving breakfast nearby were more expensive, yet served greasy cafe standard food. At least here you can get a good poached egg, smashed avo on sourdough, and a great view for the same price.

We were a group of 3 ladies doing a trip postponed from 2020 and called ourselves the Mamma Mia tour. We spotted this place while walking from Firostefani to Thira. The location was stunning and out of the main Thira rip off zone. They have an outdoor cinema and were showing Mamma Mia how perfect and was 20E each for the movie in a stunning location. They have silent disco type headsets to keep the noise down. The food was excellent we had lots of small dishes to try and the standout was the cheese whirl in pastry - can't remember its name. Terrific night the food, the movie, those sunsets and the cruise ships leaving was a moment in time.

While the views are great, the food was overpriced and mediocre. The staff were less than attentive. Our order turned up over about 25 mins, an order of pita bread took several requests and 15 mins. The plate of charcuterie was no more than cheap sliced meat from the supermarket and cost €18. A rip-off. Lemonade at €8 a glass was not worth the view. Go somewhere else if you want service and value.

DO NOT I’m sorry to say, because most of our time on santorini has been amazing. The food is an absolute disgrace, most of it was served cold, tasted mushy and frozen, the fava was watery and bland - pita bread was cold. Writing bad reviews makes me cringe because I often feel bad for the service people trying their best. Our server wasn’t good, tried to argue when we said the food wasn’t good, and it was SO SLOW. I work in hospitality and know that customers can be terrible to deal with, but honestly it just was not good at all! There are so many amazing restaurants in thira and beyond on Santorini that are half the price or less and offer amazing food, with incredibly friendly local people! This ain’t one.

I was surprised to see some reviews saying the staff & food weren't great. We did not have that experience at all! We were treated very kindly & patiently by the staff, and really enjoyed our meals. The view was really beautiful and we were able to sit down for brunch right on the cliff edge right away at noon. We had the smoked salmon & the breakfast sandwich and both were really, really good! I did feel they put attention & care into preparing and sourcing their ingredients and we really enjoyed our meal. The cold brew was a bit weak, especially for the price, but that's my only complaint.

Booked the outdoor cinema months in advance to our holiday at a price of €15 per head with snacks included. On arrival all squashed in one row - granted there was 15 of us in total but other tables nearby were empty all evening, yet we were told no we couldn’t sit at them? Had to ask about the snacks to be told No, no snacks by a young girl with shoulder length dark hair. This young lady is extremely rude & needs a course in customer service, she let’s the whole place down massively! Went to speak to management who advised we would get snacks. The price had increased to €20 a head but they would honour the price we had been told. Even though we had not been informed of any price change. My sister asked the same female who said no snacks if they sold ice cream…her reply was “No”. Ah ok so what can we buy then…her reply ‘Food’…appalling! My sister then went to buy her children some ice cream from the shop, but told the manager she wouldn’t be long & were she was going, to which the manager said we do have ice cream & proceeded to bring two bowls of ice cream out. We Enjoyed the cinema experience. Snacks arrived part way through, ok, nothing special just ok. At the end of the night went to pay the bill, again same young girl in question to be told to SIT DOWN….ended up paying the bill with the help of a lovely man who I presume was in charge. Overall cinema experience good, snacks average, drinks extortionate, female waitress rude & needs sacking, let’s the place down. We certainly would never return & wouldn’t recommend to any family friends who visit this country. Open air cinema in Kamari much better experience with lovely staff. The manager was lovely but needs to have a word with the rude girl in question. Even though we told him she continued to be rude! For the cost & the rude service avoid…plenty of places to spend your money with much better service.

If you are staying in Firastefani and want breakfast with a view, keep walking past Mama Thira (on the path towards Fira) and all the restaurants right in the main area and just another minute down the same footpath is the best breakfast with modern but fresh food you will ever have. The pancakes with yogurt and fruit, the fried eggs on toast and the Avocado toast can’t be missed. The view is incredible as well. Much better quality food than those right on the main tourist area.

4 of us went here during our week on the island, we booked, I’d recommend you do the same it was full for the full 2.5 hours we were there. Don’t expect a typical meal it’s meza type small dishes, we ordered 5 between two of us average 12 euro a dish so times 5 and then add drinks, our bill for 4 was 170 euro. It’s the experience you pay for. The view is amazing, the sunset was amazing We would go back again.

We made reservations for dinner & the open air cinema in early 2022. So glad we got to experience this. Upon arrival we were sat in Cinema area however expected a full dinner menu as that is what I thought I made reservation for. The waiter was gracious enough to move us to Volkan, their restaurant a level below. We had a glorious dinner there. We were then moved upstairs to cafe/cinema in prime seats. The only downside was having to pay for dinner on separate bill eventhough they are owned by same company. They also do not have same drink menu at both locations. The movie experience was pretty cool. They gave us headsets and a small platter of pita chips, tzatziki and olives. It was a bit cool in the evening so bring pants, a sweater or even a blanket.

We had just arrived in Santorini and had our first snack after sunset. Place had an amazing view. We ordered stuffed grape leaves (which we love). However it was like they were not even cooked. Like eating raw grape leaves with hard rice inside. Our waiter came to confirm our order a second time when we also ordered a hot smoked mackerel app. Out comes some cold pickled fish vinegar slop on crispy crakers. Barely edible. We thought "oh no, Greek food actually sucks". However everything we have eaten since has been awesome. Suggestion: don't go eat at the super uber duber cliff side restaurants. Hit em up for a drink then head a couple streets in to a local authentic place with great food and service.

Yesterday I went to this open cinema with my boyfriend and we had an exceptional experience having dinner there and watching mamma mia. The film is in english and each client is given headphones, and also olives and pita bread with tzatziki. We also ordered “Akapi” and “Peinirly” and we recommend this dishes to anyone! The waitress service was really nice. It is important to book the table first. It was a perfect experience, and we really recommend it.

We booked the restaurant online for our wedding anniversary and we were a bit early for our reservation so decided to have a few drinks until the restaurant opened. We ordered a couple of local beers and a cocktail each and I thought they were a bit expensive but it's Santorini so it's expected that you'll pay for the location on the caldera. We went downstairs for dinner and we got a great table overlooking the caldera and the staff took our order right away. We wanted to try the grilled octopus and the cheese pie from Skopelos and both were great I went for the chicken kontosouvli and my wife went for the Greek style lamb chops. Both dishes were delicious and the portions were large .I tried a 40 year old vinsanto that's only available in Santorini and although it was a bit pricey I loved it. We were full and we decided to skip dessert as we had a show to visit. The restaurant is very good and it's on a few levels all of which has a caldera view and it was a bit expensive but we both enjoyed the experience.

We were looking forward to visiting this restaurant all week and we put our best outfits on (lol) but it was such a disappointment. The café is on street level with the restaurant and bar located on different levels on the cliff side which are accessed by a number of steps. We arrived, the waitress pointed to the restaurant & told us to choose any table set out for 2 (of which there were two). My husband ordered a lager but was given a blonde beer. I ordered a rum cocktail but they had ‘run out of that one’. Hmm so have you run out of rum, or a key ingredient, or have you just run out of the pre-mixed cocktail? The waitress kindly suggested another cocktail ‘which was just the same’ – it was a gin cocktail. At 17 euros I think I’ll pass. Half of the starter menu wasn’t available – when I say half, I mean half - and it was one side of the printed menu as if they just decided to offer half the amount rather than them genuinely running out of certain items. We ordered Tzatziki and asked if we could have pitta bread instead of the crisp fried bread it came with. The waitress said she would ask but that the kitchen ‘don’t normally do swaps’. Indeed the reply from the kitchen was that we could buy extra pitta but not have it as a replacement. So out came 2 portions of bread. The waitress asked if we would like our starters (Tzatziki & calamari) brought first and then our mains (pasta & chicken kontosouvli) after and e said we would, but half way through our starters the waiter came out with our mains & it was made clear they wouldn’t be going back to the kitchen. We didn’t order meze. We ordered starters and mains which are not designed to be eaten together. Portions were large and having everything delivered at once was too much. We had to leave a lot of it which upset me as I don't like food waste. Towards the end of the evening we realized that at the top of the restaurant was a separate area set up for couples overlooking the rock and Oia – what a shame the restaurant staff couldn’t be bothered to show us. The food itself was good but the service was poor and there wasn’t a lot of effort to ensure the customer had a good experience. It all felt a bit rushed. Our bill came to 116e for a starter and main course each, 3 ‘lagers’ & a glass of wine, water plus the extra bread.

I'm not much of a breakfast person during holidays. Breakfast starts at noon at may or may not already contain soul food and maybe a light white wine and if you do feel the same way and don't envy the 7am Granola + Yoghurt eaters, then Volkan on the Rocks might just be your kind of place. Of course its not cheap - nothing on the island really is, but the prices are fair and the food and the view is spectacular. Its a restaurant by day and an open air cinema at night and this easygoing, artsy vibe is radiated throughout its white washed Santorini style walls. Love it, will be back and envy everyone who's about to meet it for the first time.
