Great open air dinner experience in romantic historic cretan/greek setting, decorated with flowers and fruits and Happy Birthday signs for my son’s birthday. Food is traditional cretan and greek cuisine, good wine list, very attentive waiters, ready to recommend specials (don’t say yes to everything of course). Food tasted really good and rations were quite large, so pretty good “bang for the buck”.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing experience

The restaurant looks amazing from the second you walk in. The staff are very attentive and were always happy to help recommend good starters or nice wines. The food was excellent and some of the best food I've eaten in Crete. At the end, we were also given a beautiful display full of Ice Cream and fruits as a gift.

Good food, and oasis of peace seated at the mill, friendly staff and a passionate owner who gladly showed us all the magnificent decorations and how he makes them all himself! Fantastic and enchanting place with good food on top of it. The complementary fruit dish you get when you ask for the check is a real treat. Nothing but compliments for this restaurant, definitely recommended.

Our expectations were high given the positive reviews, but we were disappointed. Food: mediocre Service: our main dish was already served 5 min after our starter.., after our meal we kept waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted a coffee or dessert half an hour, nobody paid attention to this. If afterwards you decide to not paying a tip -tipping is not that custom in Greece- (we payed by credit card), the waiter got really rude. To our waiter of yesterday evening (9/7): some tourists do understand the greek word "malaka".

Greek food served in a beautiful location. Very busy with Greeks as with tourists. Nice service, had lamb dish of the day, served with sauce and potatos and mushrooms, kebab and greek salad. Tasty and plentiful.

Very nice environment full of plants and flowers very nice place but as far as the cuisine is concerned it is quite the opposite!!! We ordered a rice pilaf (placed among the starters at 7 euros) to accompany the kebab dish ordered and in response they told us that the rice wasn't there because it was out of season!!! Ordered a salad with avocado and they managed to ruin it by adding a terrible dressing!!! Kebab nothing special....shame because the place is really nice!!

We have been here many times previously with my husband and now we had the chance to introduce this place to our friends. What a mistake.. The surroundings are beautiful and the flower given to the ladies while entering is a nice gesture. We had several appetizers which were very good, but the main foods were blank. No taste at all. The fruit "boat" in the end was a nice surprise. But the service is terrible! Almost aggressive and the waiter really didn't try to hide the fact that they are busy. Also after taking our order, the waiter said that we are ordering too much food, that they cannot fit it into the table?? Well, atleast previous years coming with more people, they have provided a separate smaller table if needed. Also i don't think 3 starters + mains for 5 people is terribly too much. And last, but not least, isn't it a waiters job to sell food?? I'm in the idea that the more food people buy, the more money the restaurant gets, correct me if i'm wrong... We also heard this same thing said to a table next to us. We felt so embarassed to take our friends there with high expectations, we will not do the same mistake again. Feel sorry for the owners, they really need to do something to the staff.

Mylos is a step up from most of the other restaurants in the area. Large garden area where nobody try to pull you in from the street, excellent service even when fairly busy, great atmosphere and decorations, and food that both taste and look good. A bit higher prices than other tavernas, but that has to be expected at this level.

Lovely food in very nice surroundings. We had the tzatziki to start and both had the kebab for mains. Huge portions the kebab was 3 minced (mix of beef. pork and lamb) kebabs, pitta bread yogurt fries. Very tasty. A huge plate of complimentary fruit

We chose the restaurant because of the hugely beautiful and rustic courtyard, which was hugely beautifully decorated with flowers and lamps. We all tasted each other's main dishes, and could state that it was the tastiest food on the whole trip. The waiters were extremely good at going the extra mile for my mother when we told her it was her birthday. This restaurant is perfect for celebrating a loved one, as the waiters go all-in with beautiful birthday decorations, sparklers, candles and birthday songs.

Good food but not gay friendly

Food was good but this quaint restaurant isn’t gay friendly. I pre booked a table for two and despite tables being available there was discernible awkwardness upon our arrival. Following some delay and a muffled conversation between waiting staff we were escorted to a table. The food was delicious, some of the best we’ve had on this trip. There are nice touches such as the complimentary raki and candle lit fruit canoe but this was offset by the fact that every female customer in the establishment was presented with an artificial flower for their hair with the exception of my wife and myself. The awkwardness was palpable and our courses arrived on top of one another resulting in the meal feeling rushed. I appreciate that as lesbians we were in the minority that evening but perhaps the best way forward would have been to present us both with a flower, certainly it would feel more welcoming.

Such an amazing place - its absolutely magical! The courtyard is beautiful with flowers and decorations, the food is great (we got tzatziki, lamb cooked in honey and tyme, pork souvlaki and a wonderful dessert). The waiter Yaris took very good care of us and we actually stayed for almost 3 hours just enjoying the food and soaking in the lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend it - if we had a longer vacation, we would have returned.

We had a fabulous evening at Mylos. The atmosphere was fun and friendly and the food was delicious and great value. We asked for a bottle of rose wine recommendation and the result totally hit the spot! Beef carpacio, Dracula Steak, Moussaka and Chocolate Brownie followed by a surprising dish on the house made the evening one we hope to repeat very soon!

I'm really amazed at the five stars they put in this restaurant. The only thing that draws attention is the decoration that is limited to the limits of kitchens. The menu is poor, with ordinary dishes you can find in a simple tavern which is much cheaper. The meat pie, traditional food of Chania, was reheated many times, since the dough was just cold a little not eaten, the salad with the chicken was bad, since the chicken was in the fridge baked many days, had become hard as a piece of leather and limited smelled. Very expensive for an under-moderate meal. I realize from the reviews, that most people don’t know how to eat and don’t know what good restaurant means 🙄Chania has a much better restaurant than this. The only sure ✌️

The restaurant is cozy and we were nicely received, however we had to wait a long time before the waiter thought we should have a meal card, we wanted some tsaziki and bread while we figured out what we wanted to eat, this could not be done, the entire table's order had to be given at once. We ordered lamb with thyme and wanted to share a portion of Greek salad. We now had the tzatziki which was really good with bread and a good olive tapenade, we ordered a really good local white wine with the help of the waiter. Then the problems started, we were served 1 portion of lamb and the salad, when we made him aware that a portion of lamb was missing, he claimed that we had only ordered one portion, he maintained this, however, thawed the Hansen a little and would very graciously give us one or other E.g. Coffee, but also let us understand that it was not his fault. When we still give 3 stars it is because the food was really good, we are just sad that an arrogant waiter ruined what should have been a pleasant evening. We will not come here again
