Le Cocquempot is the restaurant of the hotel where we staid during the weekend; the hotel is really fine but unfortunately the restaurant is not on the same level... They really try to serve something good but they don't succeed :-( In our menu we had "steak au poivre"; the cuisson and quality of the meat was great but the... More

Looking around Montreuil for somewhere to have an evening meal, we settled on Le Cocquempot which is in the Coq Hotel. The menu drew us in and the price (set menu - 3 courses), 37 euros, was reasonable. We had not made reservation, which may be an idea if you are around in high season. The main room was typical... Five of us went there on Friday evening. A friend had suggested two possible places to eat in Montreuill although he hadn't eaten in either! The other restaurant was closed, so we went here, arriving around 7:30 p.m. The menus looked promising, so in we went. There were just two people already dining. Four of us had the €29 menu... More

We have stayed more than once at this hotel and usually try and eat one meal in the restaurant. It is normally very popular with both locals and tourists so booking is definitely advisable. There are 2 set menus and an a la carte, but most of those dishes are on the set menus as well. We tried the more... More

Perhaps we went on a bad day... but... this place gave us one of the worst dinners we've ever had in France. Charn-less and hardly welcoming. Despite the restrained elegance of the room, there was soul-less, morgue-like atmosphere. Whilst both of us dislike obtrusive music, it was so quiet and awkward that only one (of the four) tables dared speak... More

We were staying in the attached hotel. We eat in the hotel on our last night and found it to have good food, was friendly, elegant with excellent choice.

Recommended by resident as where we would normally eatwas closed that night Arrived around 6.30pm and restaurant did not open to 7 and staff at first seemed reluctant to let us sit in bar until restaurant opened Wife had the 29 euro menu and I had the menu at 39 euro and whilst there was nothing wrong with the food,... Guaranteed a warm welcome from Brigitte, we have stayed and eaten here several times now and value the comfortable accommodation and secure parking in the heart of this wonderful little historic walled town. The food is well cooked and presented and very very French, so no surprises there, and the breakfasts are beautifully laid out with varied and delicious ingredients,... More

This was not our first choice of restaurant but all the others were fully booked. The decor is taste full but there is always a hushed atmosphere in here. The food is well presented and tasty. The menu we had was a bit heavy on garlic dishes not many options if you didn't want it. The staff were friendly and... More

We have dined at this hotel on at least three different trips to France. The dining room is tastefully decorated. For dinner one night I selected a menu. It consisted of a pumpkin soup with grilled slices of duck breast. Next was a duck breast in port wine sauce. Carrots and potatoes were mashed together. For dessert I chose a... More
