We moved to town in 2020, staying just around the corner. We had a hellish 35+ trip getting here and were flown into the wrong San Jose (USA).. Then we discovered the fabulous and so yummy we could not stop visiting Chicken Joe´s... We were...walking past and stopped in disbelief, coolest name ever and the owner Billy explained hilariously about how Chicken Jo´s character was about right for this town. Quite right. Anyway, I become horribly addicted to the DELICIOUS chicken, juicy inside, crispy outside, wicked side salads and best yukka fries on the planet... OHhhhh and the Peruvian ceviche, are you kidding? Yum yum YUM... This place is how a beach restaurant should be - casual, cool, run by the most warm and lovely couple...with utterly mouth watering food. Go go go!!!More

Eating out is generally expensive in Costa Rica. But you can get better for your money elsewhere. It’s an expensive fast food restaurant and we where not very impressed to be honest. Just basic chicken a side and sauce and not that cheap!

my friend recommended me to stop in to chicken Joe’s for lunch. and I was not disappointed! we were greeted by the host Who was very friendly and took her time explaining the menu to us. The drinks were good and the food was even...better! The chicken was absolutely delicious! And the yucca fries were A perfect side dish. I plan on visiting Santa Teresa again in the future and And when I do I’m definitely stopping back in to chicken Joe’sMore

I am sorry but I believe you misread the menu . The price you are referring too is our family meal . It includes a whole organic roasted chicken , 8 portions of sides , tortillas and a 1.5 liter of soda or 1 liter...More

Went to Chicken Joe’s after people we met at our hotel raved about the chicken. Only after we were seated and the waitress told us their specialty was chicken , and I requested the 1/4 chicken, dud she inform us that they were out of...chicken... We were very disappointed, and it was our last night in Santa Teresa. We landed up ordering the fish & chips and fish tacos. They were good. But really would have preferred chicken. I would suggest reserving chicken in advance.More

Chicken Joe’s deserves their good rating. We went on a Tuesday and were a little bummed to find out they didn’t have their normal menu. Excitement climbed again when we found out they were serving Peruvian food! Mashed potato cakes (mixed with a couple things...for additional flavor/color) topped with a variety of options. We got them topped with ceviche (great), roasted veggies (good), beef w/ gravy x2 (great), chicken salad (good), and a quinoa/avocado/pico combo (best). 3 each was plenty for our medium sized appetites. Washed it down with a coconut lemonade, which was amazing. The server told us how they make it, now I just have to figure out the proportions so I can have it at home. Will be a delicious experiment.More

While unassuming against the rise of glitz of new and trendy looking restaurants that are popping up in Santa Teresa, you are doing your taste buds a disservice by passing this place by. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right...decision. The owners are absolute gems of people who just love to see the stoke people get from the insanely delicious chicken they serve. Every detail is done to perfection, from perfect potato salad, to wonderfully crafted sauces, including their homemade hot sauce; and we haven’t even gotten to the chicken yet. My parter and i agree, the literal best rotisserie chicken we have ever tasted, period. Perfectly cooked and flavorful from the skin all the way down to the bone. Seriously go here, support these awesome people and keep letting them do what they love!More

Ordered take out family meal for 21,000 colones. Very tasty whole roasted chicken, 16 oz each of black beans and rice and litre of coke. Kind of expensive, like everything in town. Easily feeds four people. Five starts for taste.

We had a wonderful lunch consisting of Peruvian chicken and fish tacos. Both dishes are excellent. The staff is friendly, and welcoming. Servings were generous, and nobody walked away hungry. Even pleased our teenage sons who tend to be picky.
