Everyone recommended this restaurant to us and we recommend it too! Definitely some of the higher end food avail on the island. As others have mentioned: no reservations, no set menu. 4 options avail based on what is fresh and avail. We were told to arrive early as tables and food run out quickly. We had tasty mezcal cocktails. There... More

We were recommended to visit El Chapulim by the concierge at our hotel. There is no menu and the chef comes to your table to let you know what he is offering for the evenings meals (based off of the fresh catch?). The evening of our visit we were one of the last tables to be sat before the kitchen... More

We heard the hype about this restaurant and decided to try to get a table - we arrived at 6.30 and were seated straight away. The chef came out shortly and explained the 4 different options of dishes - all sounded great and my husband and I decided to try a different one each, that way we always get to... More

What pulled us to El Chapulim is the ratings and the fact is its #1 on many websites, people seem to really enjoy it, and we were able to see why. They don't make reservations, so we showed up early enough that we didnt have to wait for a table, at 7pm I think. We enjoyed local seafood and daily... More

My biggest pet hate is when restaurant owners do not understand their target audience. Holbox is a beautiful, quaint island. Local people are warm and relaxed. After hearing all the good reviews of this place, we were astounded by the arrogance, rudeness and very expensive meal. We couldn't get out of there quick enough. Both of us are from London... More

My friend & I were graciously allocated a table at this top choice Holbox restaurant this week. However, after sitting at the table for a while, we were attended to in a most summary fashion: we were ejected as I'm a vegetarian! On the threshhold, as we left in disgrace, the chef had second thoughts, saying if we returned the... More

This restaurant had great reviews and seemed like a great idea - no menu, only four items freshly prepared. We were looking forward to some fresh-caught fish, lobster, or prawns. We arrived before 6:30 pm, got a table (no reservations taken), and the chef came to our table to tell us what was on offer. Chef leaned over our table,... More

Had a supper here last week and enjoyed the concept that it was a small menu with fresh food. We had fish of the day it was great. The starting cocktail was fresh and tasty .in all it was a pleasant experience with a chef that take pride and staff that works hard to please .
