Friendly, casual, comfortable AND swing seats at the bar. Chicken fajitas were good as was my wife's fish dish. Recommend the Mayan punch.

This place had great seafood, great atmosphere and great service. There was live music which was nice and they serve grilled peppers and onions instead of salsa which was unexpected but very good.

Dropped into Viva Zapata while visiting Holbox for our second October in a row. Service was great, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the free chips and salsa given at the beginning. Ordered the guacamole which was awesome and the steak arranchera nachos which were a bit strange to us as they were less traditional Nacho style and... More

We had two meals here that we really enjoyed. The several fish dishes are all wonderful. The filet is perfectly cooked in plantain leaves. The grilled whole fish is delicious but requires a bit more work. The salads are an excellent complement to the main dish. The portions are large so one entree plus a salad or appetizer is plenty... This was okay - there are better places on the Island to eat. They do have a great bar though. We arrived at 7 pm and they were already out of two of the fish we wanted to order. The shrimp was overcooked and not enough.

Nice restaurant with sandy floor and excellent seafood and service. We had Mango Margaritas that was very refreshing and good. Main course was shrimp Zapata that was delicious. Will definitely be back Very informal and low key, but please have towels available after the toilets visits

Eat here twice. Once with my girlfriend an than 2nd time with our new found friend we met from Georgia. Food was good but the service was lacking both visits. Its a little pricy for the Island but most places are compared to other places in Mexico. Open fire grill was great but was very hot even inside the open... More
