Good food, but bad chimney for the kitchen , your clothes will smell like barbacue. Everybody smoke in all areas. Don't go if you hate ruining your food with cigarette smoke

Viva Zapata is a great place to settle in to Isla Holbox. The menu is classic Yucatan with some options for the less adventurous diners such as rib eye and hamburgers. The prices are fair and service is solid. The beef here is delicious!

Viva Zapata was very close to our cabana Los Cocos.. the first night my wife and I both had tacos.. great first dinner that provided an island feel with access to the outside world. (TV hosting the Olympics) we went back later in the week hoping for something different than seafood. We hit the jackpot with Argentina Sausage.. If you... More

I don't have much to stay about this restaurant. Nothing negative, nothing positive either... It is just an average restaurant if you want decent seafood.

Our overall experience at Viva Zapata was good, not great. My family of four was seated in front of the grill because there were no other tables available. The smoke could get a bit overwhelming at times but, in hindsight, it probably kept the mosquitos at bay. Our server was friendly. They were out of several items from the menu... More

Delicious guacamole, chips and salsa! Very friendly staff, had high chairs and a little play area for kids. I had the arrachera tacos which were excellent, there were 3 of them and they were huge! We ordered one children's spaghetti which was enough for both kids. One of our favorite places we ate during our vacation.

Simply one of the top 3 places we ate in our 3 weeks in Mexico. Great Rib-eye en shrimps, nice staff, nice barefoot restaurant and the Holboxjito cocktail is perfect! Just go...

We had a drink at the bar and because of the friendly service and good seafood menu decided to give it a try. We shared a large salad and both ordered the Caribbean lobster caught fresh that day. Huge portions and the lobster was perfectly grilled. We knew it was fresh because we watched as the fishermen brought in their... More

It was very tough to decide what to order off the menu, but once I saw the grilled octopus I was sold. Everyone at the table loved their meals. I wish we had the opportunity to return. It will definitely be the first restaurant I visit the next time I'm in Holbox.
