This is a perfect little laid back bar/restaurant open to the public at Hotel Mawimbi.....sand floors and super laid back atmosphere. They offer light fare and full meals. All the food is basic and mostly Mexican style with heavy emphasize on fresh seafood. My favorite was the shrimp fajitas. The bartenders make the best mojitos I have ever had. Thank... More

Great place with beach front, very rustic but their food is amazing! Great drinks as well, the hotel and restaurant owners work very hard on it and keep the place in super clean conditions.

We stayed at casa las tortugas right next store but ventured over many times for lunch and dinner. Very casual and laid back vibe. Darling tables right on the beach over looking the water. Every meal was wonderful and served with freshly prepared ingredients. The ceviche is amazing, the best I have ever had. Highly recommend if you are visiting... More

My hubby and I stayed at Mawimbi for 8 days. We arrived late and ate Barquito for our first meal in Holbox. I had langosta mojo de ajo. It was very good and refreshing. The portion size was also good. My hubby had the skirt steak. His meal was not pleasing to the eye and was a bit dry. The... More

We were staying next door at Casa Las Tortugas and didn't actually realize that there was a restaurant here until one of the guests mentioned it. It was a little bit Faulty Towers at points, which quite honestly only added to the charm and character of the place (it isn't as chic as next door but the restaurant is small,... More

There are other places to eat in Holbox and we did, but the food choices in Barquito Mawimbi were consistently great/convenient - and no shoes required!

Tried it twice (night cocktail hour and lunch ? Staff unpersonal nor welcoming to outside guests. Serves only Corona light which is tasteless. Fajitas de pollo and chicken filets were dry and tasteless. We gave a little push to this dull food with an excellent guacamole and bottled seasoning available on the table. I guess this place is better in... More
