Celebrated my daughter's birthday there for dinner. We stayed in hotel next door. So good to go out to dinner with bare feet walking on beach. They fixed a tiramisu birthday cake. Lobster was very good. Drinks were good as was service. Unfortunately, the bugs were pretty bad. They gave you bug spray but still tough to enjoy such a... More

Ceviche was probably my least favorite on the island. Setting is beautiful and service very friendly. A great place for sunset cocktails.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and beautiful. Situated right on the beach you can sit out on the sand among the palm trees or in a cute thatch roof covered bar. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was very friendly and even brought us a book of the history of the hotel/restaurant to look at while we... More

We stayed at mawimbi hotel and hence we often had dinner or lunch at barquito. Every time the food was very fresh and deliciously cooked. There is a variety of sea food and fish dishes, Mexican meals and an Italian touch in the menu. Throughout our stay we had the chance to try many dishes and all of them were... More

We enjoyed lunch here. The tables and chairs were made of tree trunks, beautifully designed. Sitting so close to the beach was so relaxing. We didn't want to leave. It was a nice way to relax after biking about 3 hours. We ate fajitas and nachos and it was good. Nice size portions. Not big or small; enough to feel... More

Large, excellent menu packed with fresh ingredients. The pulpo al ajo (octopus fried with garlic) was a particular favourite. Doesn't feel like the food has been tarted up for the tourists: everything is simple and tasty. Prices are decent too - aforementioned octopus (big enough for a main course) was 180 pesos - roughly £6-7. Good selection of drinks and... More

We stayed at the adjoining Hotel Mawimbi and ate here several times. The food is fresh and well prepared, and the bar has a good selection and makes a perfect mojito. The staff are friendly and service is quick. They kept tabs for five rooms for four days straight with no mistakes - good job!

Honestly and we have tried many many places, El Barquito is the best place if you are looking for a good meal on the beach. Large choice of Mexican food, excellent friendly service, outstanding location.. And not pretentious like many other places around. El Barquito is likely one of the best kept secret of Holbox.. And we like it that... More

Given how great Mawimbi is I was disappointed that their restaurant didn't live up to the high standard of the hotel. First, it's right on the sand and there are no ceiling fans so mosquitoes were the worst here of any place I ate. The food was also the most bland of all the places I ate. I ordered fish... More

We stayed at Mawimbi and so ate and drank here a lot. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was attentive without being on top of you all the time. Great snacks like nachos and guacamole. And excellent seafood a la plancha.
