Tried to get a meal at lunchtime - place wasn't even open. Came back in the evening, found out that the chef had left, no food available for the foreseeable future. Bar service is embarrassing....no sign of any staff for at least 5 minutes, and when a young dark-haired girl eventually appeared, she was more interested in going outside for... More

On a little break to Porthmadog, we popped into the Queens Hotel for food.. After a shakey start from the barstaff, we were shown to the restaurant. We think the restaurant is run separately to the bar by a young lad..and boy can he cook! The food was Absolutely DELICIOUS! I had steak and ale pie - not your normal... More

Went to the queens hotel for a Sunday roast today and it was DELICIOUS!!!! The kitchen has recently been taken over by a chef called Sam who's food I have tasted before from working in another local restaurant and when I heard he was in the Queens I knew I needed to get over there!!! My friend, her newborn son... More

Not too prepossessing from the outside, but on a miserable wet Sunday in Porthmadog neither is anywhere else. The under-populated bar with football on the TV does not inspire but then a waitress appears and leads me into the dining room. In here it is starched white tablecloths and shiny silver cutlery with a choice of several roasts or even... More

This is the second time we have visited The Queens hotel. The first was on a Sunday, mid November, nothing else was open and this really was the only option for food. I remember walking in and think ohhh sh**, the sport blaring out of the TV in the bar and the décor does not leave you with high expectations.... More

A warm welcome was given when our family arrived to stay. We booked a family room and it was perfect in every way, clean, tidy and warm. They told us that they had entertainment on that evening in form of a disco provided by a local dj,it wasn't a problem at all we even went downstairs to dance with the locals..Great music!... More

Not very good food. And we ate in the morning (breakfast was ok) in one table...and for the night it was the same table cloth...(we recongnised it because of a coffe stain). They are not worried about hygiene...

Arrived just before 2pm ready for a late lunch with my fiancé and went to the bar to order a drink. I saw two menus one labelled as full menu and the other as lunch time offers. I picked up both and the bar maid said that they weren't serving food. I enquired as to why the sign outside said... More
