I had been in Portmadoc for a weeks holiday with a friend. Sadly we didn't try The Big Rock Cafe until the morning we were coming home and so we only had coffee and a cherry bun. The food which was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. My only negative comment was the the place was a little scruffy,... More

The cinnamon buns say it all about this place - they were amazing! I'm glad I don't live in Porthmadog or I'd be the size of a bus, all the other breads and cakes looked so tempting.

Very nice buns. Arrived just before the lunch time rush so got served fast, although a queue formed quickly behind us and it seemed to take a while to get served.

Came in out the cold and rain, lots of seating out the back! Sooo much to choice! Food was all lovely, homemade and generous portions! Took away some garlic bread! Worth a visit for sure!

Don't be put off if you open the door see a queue and no seating. The place is like a rabbit Warren with lots of tables. They serve some really different breads/cakes scones etc. We were tourists but I believe it is a place used by the locals which says it all. Very pleasant staff and the place was packed... More

We tried takeaway cinnamon buns from here on a whim after drooling over them in the window. They were AMAZING, so we popped back a few days later for Saturday lunch. The cafe was heaving so we were lucky to get a table, but once the queue to order and pay was dealt with, the food was fairly quick and... More

Lovely food in a really nice place. So much choice and the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. The food was very fresh and staff were lovely and chatty. It's a dog friendly cafe too! We ate lunch then bought food to have for our tea at night!

Visited last Friday - was so good we came back on Monday. We both had the cream teas. Great fresh, home style food. Service was customer focused. Really relaxed atmosphere - lots of family groups enjoying the simplicity and toys.
