We enjoyed two evening meals at this restaurant whilst staying locally on holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and accommodated our strange tastes by swapping elements of their meals for us. We enjoyed what we ate and thought it was good value for money.

The grapevine bistro is such a cute a cosy restaurant in which I recommend to anyone visiting Porthmadog. Stumbled across this gem on a Saturday evening and were seated without having to book in advance. I found that it actually has a wider range of food on the menu inside than on the window, offering special deals and meals of... More

My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after scouting High Street in Porthmadog the previous day for a restaurant and finding just a few. This restaurant is small and the decor is a bit dated but it has a certain je-ne-sais-quois, making it a charming little place to dine in. The old lady who assisted us was... More

'Family lunch' From when we walked in it was just uninviting. No one came to ask us would we like a table we just stood at the door until a really nice lady with her child finished unnecessarily just so we could sit. We sat at a dirty table for 10 mins b4 someone cleaned the table. We were told... More

This is a lovely restaurant with a good quality food. The facilities could be better, but the food and service quality made for it

1970's dining at its worst! My husband and I and our 2 boys, aged 10 and 18months visited the Grapevine bistro whilst staying in Porthmadog for the weekend. We were told quickly that the food has a 30 min wait, I had no problem with this as thought 'at least it won't be microwave food' ( I got that wrong),... More

Arrived very early to the town and this looked OK and importantly was open. Food arrived piping hot and plentiful. Was a bit expensive and prices for breakfast do include orange or tea. Not bad not brilliant. Cheap sausages.

Don't be fooled by the daytime "cafe" appearance of this lovely establishment. We arrived in the early evening and enjoyed a very good dining experience. We both enjoyed sirloin steak, superbly cooked exactly as requested, followed by very tasty home made fruit crumble. All washed down with a decent bottle of red wine. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Will certainly... More

Probably one of the worst places I went to have dinner. During my 5 days England trip it was definitely one of the worst food experiences. I didn't expect much since the English kitchen doesn't have the best reputation. But common. This was far worse than anything I expected. How can a (if he even was a chef) call himself... More
