As a group of 11 divers we were looking to eat a sociable meal together on a Sunday evening. The staff at The station provided menus via E mail to help us pre order and made sure we had a reserved area in the pub when we arrived. The food was both excellent value and delicious. Despite us finishing our... More

Strange to see the poor reviews on this site. I can't fault the food and service, and prices are reasonable; just good, honest pub food. Mind, the comment about sticky tables is correct; strange!

Arrived 12.45 first Friday of school holidays. Pub very full & not sufficiently staffed. Accept wait for first course, however no jacket or wedge potatoes left! One of our meals was Pork vindeloo curry which was not properly heated. 2 out of 4 of us ordered ice cream deserts, wait unacceptable. Told served in order received in kitchen, nearly 2 hours... I'd advise anyone to avoid eating here. The tables are sticky from the polish they use (why they don't use a different polish is anyone's guess). The soup looks like vomit and tastes worse, while the main courses are overcooked. Drinks prices are extortionate: £17.50 for a very average bottle of wine!!! The staff are completely indifferent to the customers.... More

Typical 'pub grub' menu offered plenty of choice including generously filled sandwiches. Service was friendly and our food arrived in good time.

We enjoyed our lunch at this pub-efficient service and a good menu - not many other places to choose from so glad we found it.

Fantastic good old English pub food. Try the steak and Guinness pie with mashed potatoes and gravy and the deep fried beaded Brie with cranberry sauce which was excellent. Nice selection of wines to

We really used to rate this place and very much looked forward to our visits. Unfortunately it has gone off. The steak pie used to be to die for and was served in individual dishes full of lean succulent steak. Now you get a slice of pie which has been heated up and consequently dried up somewhat. Not bad exactly... More

Enjoyed soup and pasta meals. Pasta was slightly overdone to our own taste but there were plenty of olives and sundried tomatoes in so overall was enjoyable. Excellent choice of beer. Recommend
