We had the set Sunday lunch menu and were very impressed. The restaurant is in a beautiful Tudor building and has a lovely ambiance. The meal was delicious with perfectly sized portions of high quality food.

We were a table of 8. Nice table, quiet corner. This is a charming, different restaurant. Sometimes a bit close to the table next to you. All our food came out in a reasonable time, hot and well cooked. Drink flowed steadily. Shame no decent bottle beer. Only hogsback or pride.(better local brews, Surrey Hills). Will be going again.

Our favourite place to eat for special occasions. Food is Michelin star quality. Staff so friendly and very accommodating of one member of our party in a wheelchair. Starting your meal by breaking the bread is a must. Be back soon

It was our first visit on recommendation by friends and was our Wedding Anniversary. I cannot overstate the experience we had here . The centuries old restaurant is charming cosy and inviting, and the friendly staff knew this was a special occasion for us and made us feel right at home. Many others have raved about this lovely restaurant and... More

Returning for an evening meal, my wife and I were warmly greeted, and seated even more warmly by a fire. The day menu and fish specials menu were still being printed but came to us during a pre-dinner drink. This hardly mattered, as we chose a la carte. Our starters of a terrine with medley of smoked fish, prawns and... More

Four of us came for dinner on Saturday night. None of us had been before, but had been recommended. We certainly weren't disappointed. Crab starter and venison mains were definite star dishes and the service was of the very highest quality. We will be back.

We love coming here the staff are very friendly and the service is good. The food is delicious, I don't normally eat bread but I cannot refuse it here. The menu changes regularly and in my opinion it has something to suit every taste. Booking is essential as it is always busy, just a lovely cosy experience definitely recommend it.

Both the food and the service here is of the highest quality. Its been quite a few years since we last came here and if anything its even better than we remember it. My scallops starter was brilliant and my wife loved her stuffed mushroom. However the best dish was my turbot from the fish of the day menu. The... More

A great place to take the oldies. Tablecloths - which my mother was very impressed with. Great for summer - lovely terrace outside. Great for winter - cosy with log fires. Friendly staff. Delicious food. I particularly like the sculptures. Be warned as it has very low ceilings which add character.

Always perfect service and food. They never fail. The menu changes on a regular basis unlike many other places. Clean and very cozy.
