Stopped for a light lunch after a walk. Ordered a sandwich , which came with freshly cooked chips and salad . Sandwich was very good as well. Would have gone to dinner there if had discovered it earlier in our stay . Good unpretentious pub.

This is a true village local. Excellent choice of ales, friendly staff and clientele. The food is brilliant with a good choice and all at very reasonable prices. Well worthy of a visit and my favourite eatery in Askrigg
