Enjoyed a very enjoyable meal on Christmas eve. Not expensive and nicely presented. Very pleasant and helpful staff. My steak pie is one of the best I've ever eaten.....and I've eaten a few! Best to book at peak times.

Part of a crawl my wife and I made with a hired driver while on holiday. He took us to many great pubs in the Dales, this one of them. It has a nice, comfortable feel to it and many pictures from the “All Creatures...More

This pub epitomises the Yorkshire Dales inn, and oozes character. This ancient coaching inn has high ceilings, huge fireplace, saddle hooks, great food and beer. Always a pleasure to visit this pub. Some may recognise it from the James Herriot TV series; old photos from...More

I don't know about the restaurant, but the menu in the bar is just fine, so even if you can't get into the restaurant with the dog, you will enjoy the pub.
