A traditional family run country pub serving home cooked food and a selection of real ales, beers, wines and spirits. Booking are recommended during the busy summer season. Sorry but we are unable to allow dogs inside the pub however, dogs are very welcome in the beer garden.

Excellent place to dine if staying at Bridge House. The bar had a red hot fire burning in the grate. Great to stand at and warm oneself. Bar lady (Louise) very friendly and chatty. We ate there twice and found the food quality to be...More
Meal was ok but lacked imagination and a bit clinical. Suspect the chips were frozen and quick fried. Would I go back, yes if I was nearby but wouldn't travel miles to visit it. If you have been walking along the Roman Wall its a...More
Looked a lovley pub, came up on Google it was dog friendly, we were staying at a site near by. Walked to the pub, in the rain, snow and thunder! Only to be turned away as I had a dog. Shame, it's strange a country...More
We had a long weekend based from the Milecastle Inn. We had three nights at the AirBnB cottage attached to the pub and ate at the inn twice.

I had my 40th Birthday here and this visit was for my 69th Birthday! The prawn cocktail was really good and the duck was superb. Hopefully I will be back for my 80th even though we moved away from the area 28 years ago.

It started well with great pint of Big Lamp ale. There were six in our party inc. 1 vegan and there was not one complaint about the food. I had fish & chips and best mushy peas I have ever tasted, the game pie got...More
We've been meaning to try this pub for a long time as it has a good reputation.
However we couldn't remember where it was! Found it yesterday and we weren't disappointed.
My partner had fish and chips and said it was the most tasty fish...More
Where do I start? Booked a table for 8 for 13:00pm. Friendly staff greeted us on arrival and showed us to our table which was immaculate. A mixture of orders for lunch and all came as requested. I went for the lamb. Wow it’s gorgeous...More

There are tables by the main road but you are a bit exposed. Otherwise there is a garden round the side of the pub on the side road. And there are one or two benches in front of the entrance to the pub.
