Friendly staff, great decor and good menu. Both beer and food-good selection and tasty. Also nice to see it is a place that welcomes dogs.

Spent two nights in Haltwhistle while walking Hadrian’s Wall. Ate here both nights. Good honest reasonably priced food and well-kept local beer. Quick service, friendly staff, and a roaring fire on the second night. Busy pub guaranteed to appeal to foreign tourists as a proper...More

Not too many places to eat in Haltwhistle but this traditional pub provided a perfectly acceptable meal. Food was what you would expect from a pub, but was tasty and reasonably priced. Pleasant atmosphere.

Nice, cozy place. We didn't eat and the beers were the usual suspects, but staff seemed friendly. Looks like a local's hang out, so probably a great place for catching up on local news.

This seemed to be a nice, traditional pub. There is a nice outside seating area. We all had Sunday lunch and very much enjoyed it.

Lovely olde worlde pub doing evening meals. I did not eat there but food being served appeared excellent quality. I saw that the pub is currently to let so I hope whoever takes it over keeps it much the same. A rare find.
