We were taken here as part of an organised tour (based in Madrid). This was the only meal included in our week-long stay and I'm still mystified why they bothered. The restaurant is in and old wine store with huge earthenware pots in a warren of tunnels and caves which might be of interest to some. The set meal had... More

Chinchon is a fun place to visit, but finding a reasonably priced and good restaurant can be daunting. We stumbled on this one, Meson Cuevas del Vino, and were delightfully surprised. A bit pricey, and portions not overwhelming, but for a genuine Spanish meal, it was spot on. The rest of the facility, including the caves with old wine pots,... More

Visited Meson Cuevas Del Vino as part of a group. We weren't told what to expect so the actual place came as a complete surprise - a good one. A wonderful old winery tucked down a back street in Chinchon. Amazing restaurant on several levels set amongst old wine barrels adored with famous guests signatures. The chairs were very rustic... My favorite food of the rustic "el campo" food was the house wine and simple dishes like migas, blood sausage, tuna and garbanzos, etc.,--even the roasted meats. You can get some of these historic dishes (like suckling pig) in Madrid and Segovia at some famous restaurants, too, but this restaurant really made our Holy Saturday to find such a treasure... Move in the time machine to the eighteenth century.... A perfectly preserved place which preserves the authentic taste of Spain in the eighteenth / nineteenth Century. In winter you can eat with Chimney, very cozy. My favorite in Madrid Community

An amazing old winery in the backstreets of the town of Chinchon. The premises seemed from the middle ages with a maze of old underground cellars and huge terra-cotta vats. Very atmospheric and dusty. We were part of a group and we had a fixed menu, while the soup was substantial but not what I need before a meal, the... More

We went 10 of us without booking and they managed to get us all a table in front of the chimney. The location is like a museum, and the food is delicious also because of the wood oven. Waiters are nice and friendly. Go have an appetizer downstairs in las cuevas, you'll love it.

Visited here as part of a coach party dinner through Riviera travel. Very atmospheric amongst the centuries old wine vats and caves. Food was local and wholesome with good service in Spanish. Dietary requirements dealt with discreetly and can recommend the Gazpacho soup and grilled salmon

Quite a place. A large, rambling restaurant in former farm buildings. You sit surrounded by huge wine vats bearing the signatures of the rich and famous - Orson Wells, Yul Bryner, etc. and by various curios of the wine producing industry of the past. The service is professional and efficient, the food whilst perhaps not of outstanding quality is authentic... More

We had lunch here early November sitting next to the fire place. Great croquetas to start with, followed by a nice perdiz. Service was good (showed us the historic caves afterwards).
