We came here after a long day of hiking. The service was great and the food was delicious. Very large portions that could be shared. Highly recommend. Best food and fastest service we have had this week in São Miguel.

I love my seafood, and this place does it right! When we came to Sao Miguel I thought there would be excellent seafood on the island, but I had been disappointed by previous meals at other restaurants highly rated by trip advisor. That is until...More

Went for dinner with a family of 4 because the restaurant was recommended in several places. Had the costeleta, lulas grelhadas and filetes de abrotea. Lulas was average, filetes were tasty but nothing memorable. Costeleta was a rip off. They served two pieces of beef,...More

Good fish accompained by vegetables, right portions, right prices. We happened to wait quite a bit, but maybe it was because we came late and with no reservation. The personnel is kind, although only few of them speak English. The location looks cold and is...More

Beautiful restaurant with great staff. We had tons of apps (big group) including shrimp, chorice, grilled mussels. Very fresh local fish, we had the grouper for one and split it which was plenty with the appetizers. Sangria was delicious! Very efficient with a large group....More

Service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was modern, well lighted and clean. We were brought bread and white cheese as a free starter. They were quite good especially with their special red pepper sauce (slightly spicy hot but not very much). We ordered grilled...More

In 1979, Carlos Tavares Silva, owner of Current Restaurant The SILVA opened a brewery space serving drinks and snacks on the ground floor and meals on the 1st floor. It was later attached a contiguous land, sealed the slabs and covered with criptoméria foliage, which was very pleasant to taste the dishes that made the Ribeira Grande famous: barnacles, limpets, chips and other seafood, stew or roast octopus, the birds at the time so appreciated, the chicharrinhos villain sauce, greaves of wine and garlic, among other delicacies of regional nature. Restaurant The SILVA stands out for its strong regional-oriented cuisine and seafood and fresh fish. Moreover, the vast majority of the vegetables consumed in the restaurant come from own production as well as some derivatives of animal origin (pork, sausages, black pudding). With the growth and sophistication of the clientele, the resort has been renovated and modernized in order to respect the meantime legislated taxes, and then born the current restaurant "The SILVA", which includes a brewery room (capacity 40 people) a room intended for daily meals (capacity 120 people), another smaller, more reserved (capacity 40 people) and on the 1st floor a room for parties (capacity 150 people). The establishment employs about 15 people spread between the kitchen, table / bar and cleaning. More recently, in 2013, it implemented an energy efficiency system with photovoltaic panels that reduce the ecological footprint and consequently energy expenditure.
