We stayed two days in August. Receptionist was very friendly. The room has a good view of Gaustatoppen and the lake. Room was not big, but there are a lot of sitting places near the restaurant to enjoy the scene either indoor or outdoor. The scenes from the sitting areas and the restaurant are simply great. We were particularly impressed... More

Nice modern furniture and new lamps from last time I was there! Good kitchen as well! The mountain Gausta is as always impressive.

Great location, friendly staff, lovely building (smart update of original interior design, -retro cool). Food is ok/average while breakfast buffet is really good. Had a super pleasant stay and we actually agreed to go to Gaustablikk and its hotel every time we're going skiing with the family :)

We were stupid enough, again, to have dinner at this hotel. We made our decision based on the fact that they were doing the buffet dinner, instead of the three-course dinners we have decided to avoid like the plague based on earlier experience. Earlier buffets have been OK. This buffet was disgusting, cold cuts straight from their vacuum packs, compressed... More

The buffet is expensive, and really not worth the money. We had a late booking, and many dishes were already picked over. It's OK, but there are few alternatives without driving to Rjukan.

I was there for the winter holiday at this great location. The staff is friendly, although the hotel itself is very 70's and need upgrading as others have pointed out. The room was ok, and the tiny bathroom was refurbished to modern standards. We were disappointed about the pool area, the water was plainly filthy and opaque and too cold... More

We decided to reserve breakfast here as it was the most convenient for our morning plans, and the price was reasonable. The dining room is nice, and our server was pleasant and attentive. The food was very good, with a great selection. Basically, they might have gotten an Excellent if not for one problem. As I went to get juice,... More

We had the buffet lunch at the hotel that was nothing special, but not bad. They charged nok 355,- per person (excluding drinks) ....... The hotel is desperate for a major upgrade.

Very good buffet, great view. A bit too much of a hotel-restaurant.
