What a beautiful and charming remote village up a winding road. We were weary to have navigated the map. However, we were welcomed so warmly, seated before the enormous fireplace, and soon a warming fire, encouraged to relax and left the menu in the hands of our hosts: A delicious traditional meal with chicken liver pate, truffles, pasta with wild boar... We were staying in an apartment in Starda, so it was just a quick walk round to this restaurant and we went back a couple of times. Very nice ambience and charming service from Signora.. Excellent antipasti and the grilled strips of veal were superb. Worth a visit up the bumpy road. But access is probably best if you approach... More

This place is way off the beaten track but since it had a good write up and we had time, we figured let's take a scenic drive. The hostess was very nice and let us sit where we chose since we were the first to arrive for lunch. She served us a complimentary Prosecco while we looked over the menu.... More

We visited this restaurant based on the recommendations in the guest book of the villa we were staying at and were really looking forward to it. The location is lovely (at the end of 5 km of single track, unfinished, twisty road high in the hills) - although surprisingly without any views, and as it was lunchtime and a lovely... More

We arrived Saturday, 12th July after a long drive - looking forward to good authentic Italian food, what we received has NO RELATION whatsoever to Italy! So disappointing because the place itself is gorgeous and the waitress - who is studying to be a translator was very nice - but the food and even the WINE! was a let down.... More

I stopped at Starda while passing by car with my girlfriend. We've been the only two customers for a while due to the very early time. Sitting just in front of a cracling fireplace in a kind of suggestive old taverna style room. Food was of a sincere Tuscan style. The price was an authentic bargain. Having taken a primo... More

we arrived here for lunch as the chef in our hotel up the road had the day off. We drove for about 6 kilos from our hotel in the oak forests, very pleasant. When we arrived we were the only people there and we were not sure about the place at all. The menu was very small but our lunch... More

Dined here on a Friday lunchtime: my husband had the beef strips which were cooked over a grill, perfectly seasoned and a fantastic cut of beef served medium rare, I had the special which was gnocchi, pumpkin and sausage-not what I'd normally go for, but very tasty. We shared a bruschetta to start (note for veggies: 2 of the 4... More
