In true sicilian style, lovely antipasti and lots of genuine home-made food at ridiculously cheap prices. Fabio runs the place giving attention to all his customers. Initially a bit disappointed that the seafood was only served on order for big groups but the rest of...the menu which includes mostly meat dishes and pasta were amazing and made up for this.More
Small couple run restaurant All recipes are by Fabio and his wife: his wife is the solo cook in the kitchen. Dishes are local and homely, amazing tastes. We didnt wait an extra minute for our food. We ordered as we went along as we...were eager to taste different dishes… all was super good. The wines on display are well rated, tried and tested. Sweets… very good!! Highly recommendMore
Wonderful dinner of typical Sicilian dishes with table wine by the pitcher. The wife/husband owners were very gracious though their English was only slightly better than my nonexistent Italian. Recommended by new local friends. Very affordable.
We were disappointed by the quality of the pasta and sauces. Not want we expected. We had Good service and we were surprised that locals were eating there happily.
Really an affordable place... But don't expect special food... And special wine!!! But surely a place to go everyday
Simple decor, friendly Gaffer, and very well cooked, tasty food at a ridiculously cheap price.....Brilliant! Generous portions and a nice house red..... Sue had the mushroom Tagliatele with grilled vegetable side dish, I had a gorgeous roast meat selection with French fries and we shared...a litre of wine for the princely sum of 29 Euros ......Well worth a visit.More
Good food, large portions, fast service, nice place and small prices ! We are 4 people and we had a large tagliatelle with mashroms ( I couldn't eat it- It was too big ) and I take it at home, one rabbit with vegetables, one...caponatta, one raviolli with ricotta and tomato sauce, one baked pork with ragu, one large bottled beer and a canolli with ricotta and we paied 41 euro. They have impecable white table with 1,5 eur service/person , we eat yesturday somwhere in Noto and "servizio" was 2 euro/ person for a simple paper on the table... Thank you, Fabio !More
It is a very nice place to visit if you love to be with the Italian people. Small and not many tables but it gives a warm welcome feeling. They do take care about the customer. It is a social place to meet.
Turned up when it was supposed to have been open having negotiated the traffic in Modica and actually managing to find a parking space based on these glowing reviews. All shut up, no response to knocking on the door or calling the number. Hugely frustrating!!
We felt really good at Fabio's as he was dealing with everything, from greeting us when ringing the door-bell. The choices on the menu are not very wide, but everrything we had was very good, from the antipasti (mixed starter), primi (ravioli with ricotta and...cavatti with sugo), secondi (rabbit) to dolci, and an array of digestives in bottles just put on the table. The vino da casa was very acceptable. When booking we enquired about the fish, but it is only prepared for 6+ people. Prices very affordable, adding to an overall excellent impression.More
From start to finish we had a superb evening. The atmosphere is good and the waiter, Fabio, was sufficiently attentive without being fussy. A plate of mixed starters was exceptional - every one seemed to have been made with great care. Two types of pasta...(Lolli with broad beans and ricotta ravioli in a tomato sauce) were as fresh as you like. Rabbit and lamb followed, both very tasty. Parfait and coffee finished off a meal the like of which I’ve not had many times in my life. Oh and there was copious amounts of water and wine. The cost? €20 each, perhaps half what I would have guessed.More
We had a wonderful fish based meal, which is not easy to find in Modica. There were several delicious dishes and we enjoyed the stay there. It was quiet because it's located far from the crowded area and the owner is extremely nice and funny....Keep in mind though that if you want to have fish you have to say it a few days before going, because otherwise the restaurant serves only meat-based food. They want to serve you fresh foods and finding fresh fish requires time! Highly recommend!More
Great food, great atmosphere! This is one of the better restaurants in Modica and by far the best in its price range. The proprietor makes you feel like very welcome and will treat you to all kinds of gastronomic delights. One can not help but...think about the next visit to Fabio's despite being so full that one cannot eat even a morsel more. If you're in the area, don't miss this opportunity for a truly genuine Italian experience!More
With such great reviews I had really high hopes for this place. The atmosphere was nice, and Fabio was kind and patient with my poor Italian, but the food left something to be desired. I had the ravioli with sauce, and when it came out...I was surprised to find that is was a very boring and unflavorful sauce that just seemed like a store bought tomato paste. I wanted to enjoy it, but I really didn't. I'm grateful the prices were low, so I wasn't out a lot of money for a meal I didn't actually enjoy. I won't be returning.More
