We had a wonderful evening in this charming pizzeria. I am a pizza lover and the pizza was excellent. We loved the charming setting and the excellent service. If you are in Modica, you should visit this excellent Pizzeria! We loved it.

This little Pizza restaurant runs down the side of an alley that by day looks derelict and non descriptor but by night its heaving with tables and bustling with customers. They largely specialise in Pizza and Pasta and you see all kinds of delicious looking variations of each being served to all the tables around you. The selection of Pizzas... More

The restaurant may look a little white & stark but the food & service were excellent. We both had a fishy pasta followed by grilled fish. All was very good. The waiter was top class. Helpful & informative. Even contested my choice of wine! Good on him. He wasn't to know that I wanted that specific wine even if it... More

We chose to eat at La Contea because by 7.30 people were starting to sit at tables before they were laid up, it was all the staff could do to keep up with demand as more and more people - and tables - appeared! We had pizza as they looked good and they were, big and filling. A good and... More

The food at La Contea was excellent although they did not have the ravioli which we particularly wanted. The prices were reasonable and the waiter, Daniel, was particularly helpful. However, we did have to wait a long time to be served.

Tucked away down an alley in the centre of the old area this is well worth a visit. It's all about the pizza and they are huge, so no starters really needed. Full of locals after 9pm, always a good sign. Sit out in the alley and watch the world go by.

Many pizza options, handmade in wood oven. Huge place, so (probably) no reservation needed. The one with arctichokes was superb. 10€ each.

As part of a day in Modica we visited La Contea. It is tucked away down a back alley but do not let that put you off. The food, service and local beers were exceptional and I would highly recommend a visit.
