After a tiring trip to the historic city of Scicli, we came for dinner in the historic centre of Modica and we weren't disappointed - a fantastic array of local food - they call it the Sicilian street food - far from being the notion 'street food' - its tasty fine dining..!

This is a lovely find. The food is good - not special - but good enough we went twice. The atmosphere is fantastic - really authentic and rustic, which kind if heightened how enjoyable the food was. The local wine served here is cheap but very drinkable. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back if we... More

The restaurant offers a nice variety of traditional food of Modica. Prices is on average for Modica. It is a little bit messy and waiters cannot be very helpful since they have to deal with other tens of customers each. Food is fine... Nothing special. I personally tried cavatelli with sausage and broccoli; while my girlfriend tried rabbit with vegetables.

We stumbled upon this place for Sunday late lunch and were amazed at the immense size of it inside: room after room, upstairs and down, filled with Italian families out for the day. The picture book menu, accompanied by the one in dialect, was easy to navigate. We sampled each other's dishes: pasta with peas and ricotta; lasagne; pasta with... More

I was very enthusiastic to go there..This restaurant seemed to be be a worth visiting place but in the end it was a bit dissapoiting. The menu was rich in choice but a bit poor in flavors(some of the things were good though) maybe I was on the wrong day. The service was not good , they brought us main... More

On a visit to Modica as part of an organised tour of Sicily this restaurant was offered as a good place to have a light lunch. For 10 Euros(unsure if this was a special group price) we were offered unlimited local wine, water and a really appetising choice of Sicilian antipasti . Tried all the dishes they were all typical... Good food and service but you feel like being in a fast food where they are not taking care of you because they have too many people to serve.

Imagine this restaurant with a good 30- 40 tables full of people being served traditional Sicilian food, and you get something of the flavour and atmosphere on the busy Corss Umberto in Modeca. The antipasto looked great, but there were too many soup, stew like options to resist: as a shared starter we had a lovely Brian bean stew with... More

When I visited last March the place was closed. I am very familiar with it as I had dined here before several times and could not wait to go back. The menu is fantastic, probably the best printed menu I have ever seen. Description of the food - bilingual Italian/English as well Sicilian dialect - with list of ingredients and... More

not up to much - ok taste, small portions, over-priced. Was very good in the past when we visited Modica but it has declined and is very touristy (coach loads pack in to make for a very noisy restaurant)
