Our hotel recommended this place and we couldn't have been happier with our dinner. It is a traditional restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices. Everything is fresh and the service is friendly. Just like eating at home. Highly recommended.

Visited here on recommendation from our accommodation. We would never have found it otherwise. Set in a little back alleyway in the gorgeous city of Modica it was like finding a treasure that kept improving. Local food made superbly and prices that make it easy to order. We ordered a ravioli followed by polpette in sugo and the dishes transported... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying in. It's located in central Modica (Old Town) on a quiet back street. No frills or fancies this is a traditional Sicilian Trattoria reasonably priced. The downside is (at least whist we were there which was quite early in the evening) was a distinct lack of atmosphere and... More

We had pranzo at A Putia Ro Vinu. The food was fresh, tasty and typical of the food produced in this part of Sicily. We enjoyed a simple but delicious pesto dish.

Sub standard antipasto and pasta. House wine like drinking vinegar. Nice sausage with potatoes. You can eat better elsewhere

We found this for lunch in the centre of Modica. Traditional style restaurant which filled up quickly for Sunday lunch with local families. We went for something light choosing the antipasta putia for me, which was a bit heavier than expected with Sicilian specialities, and roast vegetable dish for my wife, which was very good. We then shared an excellent... More

We had a light lunch - shared antipasti, and lots of local wine! Very pleasant, and they insisted on serving us a bonus dish of bean soup, which was fresh & delicious.

Had rabbit with stewed vegetables. Had one of the best grilled aubergines ever. Set in the center of Modica, the place is easily reachable. One only had to go up a few stairs in a typical Sicilian narrow street. Restaurant is set in an old building. Definitely worth the visit.

If you want the above - and to eat like a peasant (with no money) this place is for you. Otherwise keep well away. I'd rather have spent our money on a few great bottles of local wine and some lovely bread. Could have been our worst meal in Italy.

A Putia ro Vinu serves typical local food. Nice antipasta and good meat dishes - the rabbit stew was a good choice on a winter's night. The cannoli was excellent. The meal style was basic and tasty, very much as we have come to expect in Sicily. It was an enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. It was also good value,... More
