Lovely seafood at La Maruzzella. Set on the sea (literally) in Lido Conchiglie, a short distance from Gallipoli this fabulously rustic restaurant serves up some beautiful fresh fish. There are no fancy trimmings, wine is served up in a plastic jug and plastic cups with paper tablecloths! The food is reasonably priced and excellent but they only serve fish, so... More

La Maruzzella is the perfect place to enjoy fresh and cheap seafood in a very local restaurants outside the crowdy Gallipoli, no superfluous nor fancy decorations - plastic furnitures and plastics plates/glasses. the food was just amazing. As no staff could speak english they found someone to help to translate. I just recommend you to arrive early around 8pm as... More

Great location but can be a little difficult to pin down paper napkins and plastic glasses in a breeze. We had mussels, both steamed and gratineed and some other shellfish. All were delicious as was the white wine. We would both love to return.

Three of us and each dish arrived after the other had already finished. The waitor apologised on behalf of the kitchen. But the seafood spaghetti was to die for along with the view position and the rest. A shame that the antipasto were served in tupperware type containers.

Read about this place in a travel article in the Guardian. It's a 15 min drive from the city centre, so we went there when we were driving to Porto Cesareo. This place is right by the sea and it was really busy when we went. A few Italian men were cracking open the sea urchins at the entrance -... More

A bit crowded and lunch and the staff does not speak English at all - the menu is only in Italian but the food was fresh and good.

Very plain restaurant - white garden furniture, strip lighting under a "lean-to" - but the most amazing fish. No-one speaks English - but just point to what you want and it will be cooked to perfection.

Paper tablecloths, plastic chairs and cups so not sophisticated but freshest seafood ever. Typical seaside menu. Simple cooking but top notch flavours. Mussels, clams, sea urchins all fantastic. Gets very busy lunchtime but the service is fine. Same sort of prices you'd pay all along this coast. Wine by the carafe is cheap. The views across the bay are stunning.... More

This restaurant is right by the sea, when it gets rough you will even get sprayed !!! it is not nice looking, the tables are in plastic, so are the crockeries and plate , and glasses, but who's cares, the atmosphere is typically Mediteramean, and the food you will get is fresh and tasty and it is authentic Italian seafood,...
