This place was recommended to us and I can only share the recommendation. Tasty food, wonderful host... even a toast to all his guests... Nice touch. Really good advice on what we might like... Host was spot on. If you are after supreme value with a nice view and great food.... This place is just the ticket.

L'Osteria is not some fancy, pretentious, formal Italian restaurant, replete with waiters in black & white livery. It is a simple, but spacious and well- sited rural retreat (4km from Sarnano on the lovely road to Sassotetto, serving a limited but thoughtful and fully satisfying selection of locally-sourced produce. Hosts Gabriele and Tiziana offer a genuinely warm reception and attentive... More

Came here for Sunday lunch with my family and we returned two days later. Let's start with the food - it's nothing short of excellent. We got a bunch of different dishes to share, and each bite was delicious. The freshest tasting pasta, beautiful sauces, and we ordered seconds of the desserts (do yourself a favour and try both the... More

We ate here today, it being my wife's birthday; we had booked a few days earlier and the charming Gabriele remembered it was a special occasion and got the other clients to drink a toast to her! He explained the various dishes on offer; everything sounded lovely so deciding was difficult. We shared a plate of cold meats, cheese, mushrooms... More

Gabriele and Tiziana go out of their way to make you feel like you are dining in their own home. We have been to Scherzi A Parte many times and the food is always outstanding! The pasta is incredible and the grilled lamb is delicious. The view of Sarnano is beautiful. Worth the drive, wherever you are in Marche!

We happened on this restaurant as we were coming down from a beautiful drive over the mountains from Fiastra. Gabriele greeted us and showed us to a table on the terrace with a lovely view over the valley rowards Sarnano. He then sat with us and ran through what was on offer, explaining everything and making helpful suggestions. The starters... More

This Alpine-style restaurant sits below one of the main skiing areas of the Sibylline mountains outside Sarnano. There are lovely views from the terrace across the hilly countryside with their lush patchwork of forests and fields. The owners are a lovely couple with Gabriel front of house and most attentive whist his wife wield considerable skills in the kitchen. The... More

My family ate at the Osteria in early August 2015. We have 2 boys, 10 and 7, and we were welcomed with typical Italian warmth. Gabriel was a charming host and encouraged the boys to try new things. In the absence of a printed menu he explained what dishes were on offer with true passion. Food just kept coming and... More

I have had lunch and dinner several times at this osteria and I have never been disappointed. The food is excellent with good wine and water from the mountain. Very friendly and excellent English. Can't wait for my next visit.

Delicious home cooking. Would hae loved to sample more of the very interesting home cooked items we were offered but we were satisfied with sharing two different pasta dishes. The standout was a ricotta and spinach filled ravioli with artichoke sauce and bacon. Again the deserts were lovely. We tried a home cooked panacotta, one with fruits of the forest,... More
