What a special place to dine with friends. Tucked away in a little side street this little gem is teaming with character and atmosphere. The food is outstanding, fresh well cooked and absolutely delish. We all had different dishes and cannot recommend the Cod, Rabbit and Pork more. Not many restaurants get the veggies correct but the chef here excels... More

Our group of five greatly enjoyed our meals and the excellent service at this fine Slow Food restaurant. We began with a selection of antipasti - all cheese based. The one that we like most was roasted pecorino on a bed of salad. The other antipasti, fresh ricotta with toast and jam and a platter of traditional cheeses also were... More

This restaurant, in the heart of Macerata, halfway between the "Sferisterio" and "Piazza della Libertà", firstly attracted favorably our attention when we walked nearby, then was recommended to us by some passers-by, we interviewed; so we had no more hesitation in choose it. Dining here is a joy not only for the palate, but also for the intellect. The local... More

We were in Macerata for the opera so we booked an early table at this restaurant. First impressions were really good. Nice little side street and well set tables outside. The menu arrived together with an 'amuse bouche' of gazpacho served in small plastic bowls with ridiculously small plastic coffee cup-sized spoons. We ordered a pasta dish and the peach... More

We were in Macerata for 3 nights and booked here for the first night based on reviews. It became obvious that to be sure of having somewhere to eat before the opera we needed to book the other nights as well. People were being turned away. We manage to get an outside table. Inside may not have been so good.... More

A highly recommended restaurant serving traditional dishes with an inspiring and ambitious personal touch. The service was attentive and genuinely friendly. One person in our party had a stomach ache and got delicious special diet food made instantly. We recommend the tagliolini with broad beans and pancetta, and the vitello with lemon marinated zucchini.

We were recommended this Osteria by our hotel and they got it spot on. Delightful side street setting with a cosy terrace. Excellent food and wine and very firendly and helpful staff who spoke good English when our Italian ran dry! We recommended the place to fiends who replied to say that they had used it several times and had... More

Not charming at all! We visited this place on a hot day, we were looking forward to a chilled glass of white wine, the waitress brought us the bottle already opened lukewarm in some water which was not cold either. We asked for another wine which was cold, it turned out they didn't have any. We ordered a beer which... More

The restaurant was recommended by the couple in whose villa we are staying. It was a very hot, sultry night, and one would think that the kitchen staff would have been too hot too cook! However, we were warmly welcomed and we sat outside on the lovely side street in the pretty university town. We had a mixed antipasto plate,... More

I love places like this in Italy -- modest little place down a quiet street serving local uncomplicated food but prepared *absolutely perfectly*. The gnocchi was the lightest most pillowy I've ever eaten, served in a bright tomato sauce and went perfectly with a bottle of Verdicchio, a specialty of the region. The house specialty lasagne was the most sensitive... More
