The owner of the restaurant was very nice and welcoming even it the restaurant was not yet opened (11:45), he prepared us a delicious Greek salad, tsatziki and taramasalata. The terrace is very beautiful and everything is clean and delicious. After lunch he recommended us a few tips for our visit in Crete. Thank you, it was a very nice... More

We woke up too late for breakfast, and just thought to lookup one of our pre-selected restaurants for lunch ;-). Came across this family run place with an extremely friendly cook/waiter. Great food, good value and on top of that gave us tips regarding places to visit. Worth it!

We chose Eva Taverna because it was the top rated restaurant in Malia and it did not disappoint. Even though it's not in the centre, it's well worth the walk. The service was very warm and welcoming, and the meal was one of the best we've had in Crete. Per our server's recommendation we split the Greek plate for one... More

We found the food to be of the highest standard and simply delicious. We dined beneath the canopy of mulberry trees, with lots of lit lanterns, it was beautiful. The owner Yiannos was dedicated to delivering superb service, extremely hardworking, and a genuinely lovely man. The bathroom was out of this world! Impeccably clean, automatic lights came on, and the... More

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay, and each time it was busy, always an encouraging sign. Traditional Greek setting. Vast menu with lots of tasty authentic dishes. Good attention to food presentation. Reasonably priced. Generally good service, albeit one slightly grumpy waiter. Would recommend.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The attention to detail from the food to the toilets (yes you have to visit the toilets - they have EVERYTHING!) is just fantastic! I have now eaten here 4 times and made my way through the menu.. Whether you want an authentic Greek Meze, or individual dishes the quality is consistent. I personally... More

Taverna Eva is definitely worth a visit if you're after a delicious, authentic Greek meal in Malia. You can't pass up Mama's home-made baklava and the house red is fantastic. The service is also second to none, with our waiter Ioannis even offering to drive us to the apartment after dinner. Looking forward to our next meal when we return... More

We had to return for another meal at Eva before leaving Malia. Our waiter, wearing his signature tie with shorts, went all out to make us feel welcome and sitting under the branches of the beautiful trees that have been allowed to remain makes for a gorgeous setting. My friend found the Moussaka to be delicious and the Halloumi starter... More
