We came here for lunch today, based on previous reviews, and were not disappointed. My wife had the 12.90€ two course + glass of wine menu and I had the 18.90€ three course one. The sardine/fennel starter was light and tasty and the main courses...of pork fillet wrapped in bacon - cooked perfectly - and dorade fillet - slightly over - were served with plenty of vegetables, which was both a pleasant surprise and unusual. The plates were exceptionally hot, which was great for keeping the food hot, but not if you tried to move them! The glass of chilled white wine was a good compliment to the meal and was a decent size. The cheeses - a goats cheese, a tomme and a morbier - were at room temperature and tasty, and the chocolate ganache, with red fruits was rich and delicious. Coffee was, very unusually for France, hot and served with a couple of petit fours, a good way to finish off a delightful lunch. We will definitely be going back! On a separate point, and to avoid disappointment, it is worth booking as the restaurant was pretty full!More

Really top traditional french restaurant. Kind people, good wine, excellent cooking, reasonable prices.

We came across Le Ricordeau by chance as we were looking for a restaurant in Loudun and we weren't disappointed. The service and food were very good and it was one of the most reasonably priced meals of our trip (7€ for a 375ml carafe...of wine). We visit this part of France reasonably often and will be back again.More

Beautiful restaurant with rooms above. Elegant food, prices too rich for my palette. Has a good reputation locally as the place to eat. If price is not an issue then you should enjoy the experience. It does often need a reservation to get a table

Went today after a gap of 3 years. Still wowed by the good. Set meal for less than 20 euro's. What's not to like. Great pesentation and nice touches with amuse bouche. Great express menu too. Good choice of wines and aperitif's. Please go and...you won't be disappointed. Also staff really professional.More

What a fabulous experience - I do not understand the negative reviews of this jewel of a restaurant. We both had the set-price €35,90 per person 5-course meal and it was magnificent. Many thanks

Visited August 18 - 4 adults & 4 kids at end of 2 week holiday - by far the best value of whole holiday - 4 courses under €30 and 3 courses for children under €9. Fantastic local food - an old school French restaurant...and staff made it really easy for us basic French speakers! Can’t recommend enough and very convenient for Center Parcs.More

2 of us were staying with a friend who lives in this area so the night before we returned to England we had a lovely evening meal here. The staff were attentive and the food was good, we even had our friends dog with us...so he had a doggie bag too to take home.More
