We (6 of us 2 adults 4 kids) stopped off here as it looked a nice spot.perched above the old fountains looking over the cobble stone road watching the bikes whizz by training for the tour de France we were greeted with a smile. Our order came quickly. Tip The tourist information is just across the road often with the grand... More

Stopped here for lunch during a Leger battlefield tour. We only had an hour but was pleased to have found this place as it was the best Welsh rarebit I have ever had, with a fried egg on top, melted cheese, ham and bread that had beer on it. It was excellent, Would go there again if on the same place again

We arrived at La Table du Meunier in Cassel to take a lunch before visiting "Le Musée de Flandre" in front of us. We went inside cause of the weather and the brasserie was nearly fully booked, and we choose tboth the simple menu of 20 euros. I ordered a small porc ham with mustard, and cod fish for my... More

Our expectations were high when we arrived at this attractive central restaurant for a lunch on a bright spring day; we'd stopped here for a coffee a few months earlier and been tempted by the small blackboards dotted around detailing the day's menus. From the €15 through the €20 and €25 selections, all looked interesting and good value. We were... More

We arrived in Cassel around mid afternoon - too late for lunch but too early for dinner so we were looking for a snack. La Table du Meunier looked good so we wondered in to find a warm welcome. We ate crepes and drank too much wine which doubtless helped our enjoyment; planning to go back for a proper meal... More

Ever since our dinner at "La Table du Meunier", we have been returning regularly to have a beer, and enjoy the terrace that offers a nice overview of Cassel's central place, Grand Place. When you arrive around lunchtime and only wish to have a drink - and not a meal -, the staff will help you similarly friendly. This cannot... More

We chose from a 23 euro three course menu. The food was good but more expensive than a similar selection in UK. The staff were very efficient and entertaining. The surroundings are good. As there is quite a lot of choice in Cassel we probably would not go here again until we had tried the other places. However we were... More

A wet start to my birthday. We drove to Cassel intending to re-visit the Foch, but were early for lunch so walked around.A smiling lady writing a board outside La Table caught my eye and we decided to inspect it.A good decision and we went inside. Kir royal [of course] then grilled and flambéed gambas followed by escalope de veau in... More

You would not believe that the new owner of this restaurant had only been there four weeks, the service and care they took with all they did was so good. The owner/chef so loves to cook it comes over so much in his food, and his wife love to look after front of house. It was a pleasure to go... More
