I enjoyed the food I ate at The Cow, the two times I ate there. The pasta and pizza were delicious, especially while enjoyed inside near the warm roaring fire in the center of the restaurant. The one item that fell below expectations was the garlic bread. The middle of the bread was cold and I was disappointed that there... More

Pizzas were great if a little pricy. Customer service needs some work though. Atmosphere is great with interesting decor and a cracking fire.

Great dinner at The Cow tonight. Awesome atmosphere and food. We as a family were impressed by the food and the wait stuff.

I could've eaten till all of me, right down to my calves, were as swollen and tender as the cow's sweet udder. If I was T-boned one day and sent to heaven then I hope that celestial home would be akin to being put out to pasture on The Cow's pasteurised pizza mozzarella.

Slightly off the beaten track, we would not have found this place without some local knowledge. For heartwarming food this is the place to go! Pizza and Pasta can be so ordinary, and there are so many options. The COW has what could be considered a limited choice of each, but you will NOT be disappointed. The Pizzas are hand... More

Couldn't believe how similar this was to the one in Queenstown, even has the same smells!! Thought the service was average (the guy seemed to not care at all and was not overly friendly to us) but the food was fantastic.

Always try to stop in and have diner here when I visit Wanaka. The food is great and the pricing is not too expensive. The staff are very friendly.

I last reviewed the cow in 2012. It hasn't changed. The cow is located in a replica old stone building in Post Office Lane. It's a casual, inexpensive restaurant with seating in booths - nothing flash, but it has a cosy atmosphere thanks to the open fire. It's small and they don't accept bookings so you may need to wait... More

Love the stone building, feels like it's been there for ages. Great to sit outside too if the sun's out. Staff seemed rushed but attentive. Expensive for pizza. Love the garlic bread to start.
